What Gives Me Hope
The children that I teach. I only have them for 1 or 2 years, but I have seen some of them as young adults now. They live what I taught them! :) Some are even becoming teachers themselves!
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
I would have every single person in Jr. High & High School take child psych. & child development classes. Everyone comes into contact with children, most of us will have them in our care at one point or another. Just think what a difference it would make if you sort-of knew what to expect from them at different ages. Just think of all those teen-agers out there who are having babies because they think its fun/easy/ect. If they had to take these classes I think a lot of them would reconsider.
What/who changed my life and why
"To Sir, With Love". I saw the movie as a child, then I read the book when i was about 9 or so. Just the idea that an adult would come into a classroom and teach real-world skills and do so with equal respect.....it was mind-blowing. I think that is the reason I decided to become a teacher!
