If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
If I were President I would end subsidies to big sugar and buy the sugar farms and mills in the Everglades. This would bring an end to this polluter of a beautiful ecosystem. I would subsidise the education of all those who lost their income from shutting down the farms. I would save billions of taxpayer dollars by eliminating sugar subsidies and lower the price of sugar to the American consumer.
I would work hard to protect the environment, promote policies to clean up the oceans, lakes and streams, the air, the forests, the earth and sign treaties that protect the ozone, endangered species and the environment in general. I would expand the National parks and forests and increase funding to raise pay and increase the number of park employees. I would encourage the use of clean energy sourses and give tax breaks to any person or entity that used environmentally friendly fuels in their homes, businesses and autos.
I would impose an excess profits tax on oil companies doing business in the US.
I would provide health care for all our citizens. I would raise the pay and provide more benefits to our veterans and active duty service people and not send them in harms way unless absolutely necessary. I would increase education funding and provide food for the poor so that no child would go to bed hungry. Increase funding to provide homes and shelters for the homeless. I would listen to police officers and ban automatic weapons.
I would work with the leaders of the industrial nations to help the people of 3rd world countries by demanding fair pay and safe working conditions for their citizens and place sanctions on imports from counntries and companies that do not treat their workers fairly.
I would give amnesty to all Mexican nationals in the US and provide a guest worker program. At one time more than a third of the US belonged to Mexico.
I would raise taxes on the top ten percent of US citizens that control over ninety percent of US wealth.
