Hi Everyone!
I have been away for awhile so I wanted to let my care2 family know our good news! I have not been around as much as usual for the last 8 months and I have been here even less the last 11 days. I have spoken to some of you about my pregnancy and health complications and what not. We were expecting our little girl Nov 21st, so when my water broke Oct 10th we were nervous. I will cut out lots of details as not to bore you all to death, but 40 hours later and the labor was not progressing as it should; so they wheeled me into the operating room for a C-section. Some complications and two blood transfusions later they took her out and I heard her cry. It was the best sound I think I ever heard in my life. When I got discharged a few days later and I had to leave her in the NICU for a few days - Talk about crying! She was really small and in the incubator because she was not able to maintain proper temperature on her own. They wanted to monitor her. Those few days were rough pumping milk, being sore, crying hysterically leaving her in the hospital.................. For her I would go through that, or anything, a million times though.
Now she is home and doing well. Our premie has had her own agenda during the entire pregnancy it seems! She had her first appointment with the pediatrician Tuesday. She was expected to get back to her birth weight (4 lb 12 oz) within her first two weeks. She left the hospital at 4 # 9 and now she is up to 4#15oz! We are doing pretty good I think. I'm still sore from the incision, but other than that--we are doing well and thrilled to pieces. We had a few names picked out and were waiting to meet her. Her daddy was pushing for Lilyanna since we found out we were pregnant. So, Lilyanna Jane was born 5:05 p.m 10/11/08.
Since she got here before her bedroom furniture, we had no changing table or anything like that. So.......stuff was everywhere - clothes, changing stuff, etc. Because Lily decided to show up 5 days after the baby shower, we were not at all ready (I guess what first time parents are ready ever). Things may be a little hectic, I may not feel my best, money is really really tight.......but we could not feel any happier. We are truly blessed! Lilyanna is amazing. I would love to write people individually.....and I will get to it. But I wanted to send out a general "thank you" to you guys for your ongoing support, kind words/comments, advice, emails--everything. (Aunt Barb, Lilyanna says she can not wait to wear her adorable lavender sleeper. She can't fit into that, or any, of the clothes we have for her right now. Daddy had to run out and get some preemie things! But when she does wear it - we will get pictures and send them! Thank you again! xoxo)
I have to run, she is demanding that I feed her (I'm starting to feel like a cow!). But I will be on again soon when she takes naps and I'm about to put Lily's pictures up in my care2 album. Take care and we will be in touch soon,
Love,
Jaime xoxoxo..........
