Postcards from Katrina TM: Sharing Stories of Hope and Help
Postcards from Katrina TM invites you to make a postcard, art, poetry, spoken words of hope for its online art gallery under production. Please feel free to send and view photos and art of the project and provide comments. If you wish to volunteer for community outreach efforts, email postcardsfromkatrina@gmail.com. I encourage you and your friends to make a homemade postcard of what Katrina means to you. Send in a photo, art, poetry, or music. You don't have to be an artist to make a card. Just show that you care and send in a postcard, which will be a part of an ongoing effort to build an awareness and remembrance that hope can help in the eye of the storm and in the sea of despair. Because hope is all we have at times. Also PfK is a part of a monthly happy hour with a social cause in the metro DC area. Subscribe to stay informed of the events. If you wish to co-host an event, drop an email. During time of crisis, art can help to heal and to creatively express their feelings and channel energy in a positive way. The project presents a great opportunity to civically engage youth, schools, and faith- and community-based organizations by reflecting what Katrina means to them in shape of a postcard, which will become part of a traveling and online arts exhibit. If you need more information or press kit, please email me. Thank you and take care.
