I spend a lot of time on the computer because I'm disabled and cannot work even doing housework. My God given mission is to help others. I keep seeking ways to do this. I was a teacher who worked with many different people from adults down to grade 1, although I'm not a good primary teacher, preferring to counsel students and turn them around from bad attitudes to better attitudes. I was a workaholic, spending long hours at work searching for the right method of helping the students who were disabled. At the end, I worked in special needs situations. I'm an animal lover from babyhood, particularly horses, but also cats and dogs as my favorites. I presently have a dog and cat. We sold the horses when I could no longer ride. I love to read, mysteries and police procedurals in particularl. I watch TV - forensic shows are my favorites. My husband and I were foster parents for teenage girls mostly. However, our last foster child was a boy with FAS and other brain disorders. He is still part of our family. I have 5 children, 3 of them step children, who are all grown and have families of their own. Present count of grandchildren is 11 with one more on the way. I'm very family oriented. I'm interested in Green Peace, International issues and learning about other cultures. I'm a member of a mail group with members all over the world which is a great way to get to know about what others think about issues that interest me. As you can see from the current mission I am a diabetic, type 2 but on insulin to control my blood sugars. I firmly believe that there is a major psychological impact the must be dealt with and people helped in order that they can deal with this disease. I must help them as much as I can.
God teaches us to love others as we love ourselves. This includes forgiveness. As we forgive others, we ourselves are forgiven. Love is the greatest commandment and sometimes the hardest thing to do. We came onto this world to learn. Everything that happens is a lesson we must learn.
What Gives Me Hope
That God forgives us through the death and resurrection of his Son, Jesus, and that I have a mission to fulfil even in my disability.
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
I would insist that freedom of religion be given to all people and that people would abide by that.
What/who changed my life and why
I had a near death experience in which I learned what my main mission was in life.
