My Voice,My vision...

I am a retired Deputy Sheriff living back on our farm/ranch where we raised our six children. They are my life. anyone who has had their own knows why. We still have many horses from our camping days, laying hens for eggs(free range),over 8 kinds of ducks and turkeys. I have 4
beautiful cats and since our middle daughter took her pitbull with her back to Nevada no dogs. My youngest is still in college at home and we both would like to get a dog, some one for the cats to torture!  Only joking but Max the big pitbull was very much intimidated by the cats!
I am looking for ways to raise monies to refurbish our ranch to use it for a sanctuary-like for endangered farm animals.  There are many breeds of various animals no longer in prolific numbers that were slowly "discontinued" by major farm conglomerates years ago.  The basic "hybrid" versions that are their cousins are just that- basic. But
when some unknown disease with no remedy comes along and can wipe out an entire breed those older breeds less well known and healthy could be the answer. In other words, I believe we need the older breeds of cattle, chickens, turkeys, ducks, pigs, goats, and even horses. When you consider the industry and business built around some of these animals and their plight should some disease threaten them, a venture as simple as this seems too simple. If such  older breeds were free from such problems the research value
alone would be phenomenal. I love animals. I always have and I believe that they represent God's wonderful blessing to us to care for and have the proper stewardship of in a world which has profit as their only priority.

We also have the vision and calling to use our ranch...

About Me Oh my...I had long honey brown hair for all my life until about a week ago! I love to write,to ride our horses which is becoming a difficulty as of late. I have a, I want to say slight but diagnosis-wise may not be, disability. It interferes with my physical pursuits but I try to keep as healthy and active as possible to offset
the challenges. I love to read when I can learn something new. My heart is usuallly on my sleeve and unless you are a caring and person of truth you probably would not see it.
Animals, my pets are noble friends because they love without seeking their own selfish needs. Sure you feed and care for them but they have no malice, born without sin just under it's influence. I usually have a big garden but much of that work is difficult for me

What/who changed my life and why The Late Great Planet Earth by Hal Lindsley
Because after years of religion being shoved down my young life called Catholicism, they never once told me the simple gospel of Jesus Christ. How when He laid down His life on the cross with all our sin and then took His life up again when He rose from the dead He did it personally for me and you and that is why it is a personal decision and relationship and not a religion. Religion is man-made, man attempting to find a way to please God. Christ has already done that and He is coming again!
