Hi, I'm Doug,
  AS I grow older I see more of things dealing with our environment and our own personal liberties becoming more eroded each year. I'm only one person but I believe that I can make a difference and even if it's signing a petiton or helping out through a charity or whatever avenue I select at least I'm doing something. Combined efforts by many can create change so I'm happy I found this site, it allows a fourm of enablement to combine my efforts with the efforts of many.We have but one life and one world to live it in. It is my hope that when I do leave this world I will have left it a little better due to my actions.

About Me I'm a 57 year old That enjoys what life has to offer. I like seeing new places and meeting new people.I am taking a new direction in my life as a marine engineer. I am attempting to sail in or close to my own great country of Canada.In this way it will give me personal insight to form opinions and relate these to others from first hand experience. I am particularly interested in seeing the great north here in Canada and getting to meet it's peoples. I
am a firm believer that by seeing for yourself and interacting with the people who would be most impacted on changes in their environment and exploration of their natural resources and the impact of it. Second hand is not always the best way to find these things out.Hopefully I will be able to see first hand just what Global Warming,Mining and Oil Exploration is doing to these people of the NOrth and how it impacts on the rest of us.

Wild Fact About Me A Few Years ago I decided to re-enter college and change the direction of my life.
I now through work am travelling the world and seeing other cultures and how people live. In many instances I am in wonder at the vast differences between North America and the rest of the world. Each trip gives me more insight and each is a new learning experience that I enjoy.I'm once again considering going back to school and taking another direction in my life. I'd like to become a writer and learn the techniques of gathering the necessary information to put a novel together.
I hope that I will be working and contributing to our great world in one way or another until the day I cease to exist.
