I am concerned about the degree of ignorance, greed, and aggression in the world today. The key to improving the situation, I think, is each person stiving to become a wiser, more compassionate, and caring person. I have written about some of these sorts of things in my books, most recently in Science as a Spiritual Practice which was published by Imprint Academic in March 2007. Well, I gave a lecture on category theory today, and even though I had only mentioned the lecture by word of mouth in the last week, about 10 people showed up! It's heartening to see how many people are interested in learning something new (even though it is difficult), and late on a Friday afternoon at that! . . . . Wishing everyone a good weekend!
