Hello - I am a California native. Born in Oakland, raised in Berkeley. My social activism goes back to Vietnam war protests in my early teens. I also was a contributor to early efforts to save wolves in the U.S. and Canada. I early on chose the wolf (or it chose me?) as my power animal. My home has many wolves and they are always welcome. I work in the mental health field and bring my political/sociological viewpoint there as well. I believe that each of us exists within communities of influence, in sickness or in health. Modern, technological societies further isolate individuals and the result of this is illness. I believe in treating the whole person including the context.
I have been an active member of SEIU locals 250 ( Hospital and health care workers union) and 790 (public employees) on and off since 1986. I participated in active efforts which lead to bringing union representation to ambulance E.M.T.'s and paramedics across the United States. I have worked as organizer and have taken part in contract negotiations.
I enjoy many outside activities including bike riding, hiking, travel and camping. I play guitar and sing. I take photographs using film and digital media and have sold photo greeting cards for the last 3 yers in the Bay Area. I am presently single and looking to meet a woman who shares my politics, my interests and who is psychologically oriented and aware.
