What I Want to Do: be healthier

Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.
Mahatma Gandhi (1869 - 1948)

Although I've been a care2 member for many years it has only been in the last little while that I have made the time to make a larger contribution. Maybe it's the fact that I'm getting older and realize there is no time like the present or maybe my values are just slowly evolving. Maybe it’s both. All I know is that I remember being a kid and being so very enthusiastic about "saving the environment". I was going to join greenpeace when I grew up. I also remember being very frustrated because as a kid nobody listened and I didn’t have a say about the household decisions so I couldn’t make as big an impact as I knew I could. I couldn’t wait till I was older and had my own place and then I could have as much dolphin safe tuna and biodegradable toilet paper as I wanted.

But what ended up happening is that I got caught up in life and such "green" choices never did get incorporated into my life as I thought they would. I shopped at Walmart because it was cheap even though I disagreed with their treatment of employees, I bought the cheap bleached paper towel rather than the more expensive green product and I drove an old and inefficient car. Sure I still recycled and bought green products if they where the same price or just as convenient as the alternative.

In the last year some things have changed in my life and it has made me realize that now is the time to start making that bigger impact I always wanted to as a kid. I am happy to report that I have been very successful so far and I look forward to continually improving.

I would like to meet and connect with like-minded individuals through this network and look forward to learning from my new friends. Please take the time to send an introduction before asking for a friend request. I like having the opportunity to talk with new people.

Thanks

Wild Fact About Me I am not a morning person. I don't like to turn the lights on when I dress in the morning thus sometimes I end up wearing my underwear inside out.
