My Page Billboard
My passions are Music and my Painting and Photography, I love all music, ( well most music) from 1960's to present watercolour paintings are crap but at least I get pleasure from doing them lol......I am not an Artisit per se, but I am a member of the SAA  (Society for All Artists) here in the UK ......Some of my Poems follow........

I have been a Bereavement Councillor for many Years, this small collection of poems are ones I have written to help others come to terms with the death of a loved one.....

Rainbow Island

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Island.
When a loved one dies, there they go to wait for you.
There are meadows and hills, sandy beaches and Coves
Plenty of food, heavenly nectar and warm sunshine
Vibrant, healing rainbows abound on Rainbow Island.

Our loved ones who have been ill or died of old age
Their health and vitality is now restored
Those that were scarred or maimed are whole again
Those that had pain feel pain no more
Disturbed minds are now pure, on Rainbow Island

As we remember them in our thoughts & dreams
We think of those happy days and bygone times.
Be content they are now fit, pain free and happy
Even though at times they might miss us, it’s different there
They bathe in the tranquillity of Rainbow Island.

They meet all those who have gone before them
Ancestors, neighbours and old friends alike
It’s a rendezvous point for all to meet up
Where they rest, play, talk and watch over the living
From the warm sandy shores of Rainbow Island

You have been observed & protected by your spirit friends,
They are watching over you today, feel loved, hugged and protected
And one day in the future when you all finally meet again,
You will cling together in a joyous reunion, never to be parted again.
At the entrance to Rainbow Island

The happy kisses rain upon your face and hugs warm your body;
Your hands once again hold & caress their hands,
One more time you look once more into their soft trusting eyes,
So long departed from your life but never far from your heart.
Then together you will cross to Rainbow Island

Your Pain.....

No one knows the pain you feel as much as I
No one feels the pain you have more than I
No one knows the reasons, nor cares more than I
No one feels your tears nor dries your eyes more than I

Across the barrier of distance, and age
Over the airwaves and in my heart
I feel your emotion and feel your rage
But each step is a beginning and plays its part

I woke up through the night and felt your fear
Your heart was heavy and I knew it was near
You deal with so much in your solitary life
The turbulent crap , the trouble & strife

No one knows the hurt you feel more than I
No one feels you anguish more than I
No one hears your cries, more than I
Few people feel your heart more than I

In all the darkness there is a light
Tiny I know, but you have to fight
Don’t let them have the last laugh on you
You’re one in a million, yes … you !!!

After many years counseling folk, I wrote this sort of poem as a generalisation on how a lot of folk feel having lost a loved one in the first few days/weeks/months after a death..

Tears on my pillow, tears on my face

My emotions are running out of control

My heart is burning, my chest is on fire

My head is aching and is ready to explode

My ears hear your voice, but I am so confused

I speak, but no one hears, I cry only tears of pain

I feel anger, rage and confusion, I push people away

I am hurting emotionally, feeling alone

My body hurts, my breathing is erratic

Only despair creeps in to that deep deep void

No light in my eyes, and darkness all around

I feel all alone, my world is at its end

No one understands me, no one really cares

My life has collapsed inwards, no hope anymore

I feel like curling up and withering away

Despair is all I feel, pain all I know

Why oh why did you really have to go

About Me My short profile would read……..’Hi I am just one of life’s boring 'Old Gits', trying to get by in life on a bit of wing and prayer.’ …………………..

The Longer version would say something like……………………

Until recently I used to Chair a National Diversity Forum in London, so you will find me non-judgemental; I really enjoy meeting people from all cultures and avenues of life!!, I don’t have time for bigots, Homophobe’s; or ignorant, selfish people so please if you are one of these DON’T waste your time contacting me.

I studied for 8 years at University & College whilst reading Social Psychology for a BSc Hons and an MSc in Applied Psychology plus a Diploma in Counselling, ( I've done a lot of jobs in my time from Army, Police & Nursing through to Bus Driving, Coach Driving and Travel Management, Holiday Resort Repping, to Psychology, Counselling, Councillor and more recently Full time Voluntary for a National Charity working closely with a senior member of the Royal family) I do have a lot of experience and can empathise in many varied and diverse ways with folk ...

I have travelled quite a lot, been privileged to have been involved in lots of interesting work, and have lived and worked in Austria (4 years) & around Lake Garda & Verona in Italy (3 Years) plus I have worked briefly in France, Spain and Germany , so in all honestly I probably have been there, done it and worn the 'T' shirt..!! (Sorry if you find that big headed but it just happens to be the truth)

Until recently I used to fly regularly ( an average of 10 return flights per Month or more) on business, and have experience working with Social Services, Alzheimer’s, Victim Support, Local Council and Youth Offending Team. I am a corporate member of the Institute of Transport Admin (MInstTA) and also Institute of Life Coaching (MLCI). I have other Professional qualifications but don't use them now.

I much prefer talking one to one rather than meeting in groups or crowded pubs, I eat most foods and rarely drink nowadays ( I don’t get the chance too often ) apart from having a nice bottle of wine or when I attend formal dinners in the course of my work

I am currently working on a voluntary basis full time and on a freelance basis, but am looking to get back into paid employment and am also looking to move location in the new year, not sure where yet..

What ??? yer still here reading me profile.... :| you got staying power then..!!

OK.!! ..well that’s just about me in a nut shell, I've probably left some stuff out, have done loads more than I have written about but you might like to find that out for yourself by writing and getting to know me.....I don’t bite.... honest...!!!

Does what appears to the eye not disappear when the same eyes are closed? Thank you for allowing me to see what beauty is truly within your soul.  You are gorgeous.

April 22, 2007:  Earth Day Blessings

"You see that pale, blue dot? That's us. Everything that has ever happened in all of human history, has happened on that pixel. All the triumphs and all the tragedies, all the wars all the famines, all the major's our only home. And that is what is at stake, our ability to live on planet Earth, to have a future as a civilization. I believe this is a moral issue, it is your time to cease this issue, it is our time to rise again to secure our future."
