My Philosophy I am a recovering pessimist and I now incorporate a healthy dose of idealism with my realism. I lean rather strongly toward empiricism while recognizing its inherent limits; I am an enthusiastic exponent of Russell's humanist empiricism, as well as Merleau-Ponty's phenomenology. Politically I tend toward democratic socialism.
