Artist, writer, mother, sister, daydreamer, animal-lover (but I am NOT a vegan/vegetarian; no apologies)... one human in search of other "ones" knowing we CAN make the world a better place...
I hitch-hiked home (from rock concerts, up to 1,000 miles away) as a teen in the early 70's... I created (in 1996) and run a website for a musician/band who were HUGE in 1980-1982 (they SHOULD be, STILL)... I was a HOT cocktail waitress from 1989-1991 and 1993-1996... I worked as a Painter's Assistant (wetsand, masking, variprime, grinding, trim paint, pinstripe, etc.) in an autobody/paint shop in 1989-1990... I was the 'entertainment' for a wildlife/wetlands fundraiser in 1990: I wore 30 lbs of fashion clothing and outerwear that was gradually auctioned off down to a fur bikini, and the fur bikini auctioned off for $2,400 (top) and $5,300 (bottom)(okay, so I guess I 'stripped'--but just that once! Every woman should give it that one try!)... I illustrated children's books in the 90's, and also did pencils and inks for several independant comic books, including two of my own!... I sometimes write erotic fiction (mostly for myself, but have shared some short stories with a FEW lucky souls)...
My Philosophy
I'm neither Republican or Democrat. I'm not for guns or against them. I'm for animal rights but NOT a Vegan/Vegetarian. I'm not religious, but I AM A DEVOUT CHRISTIAN. In short, I believe in moderation, in living by and as an example, that there are always circumstances that dictate unique actions and/or solutions. I believe if we slow down, genuinely care for one another, listen and speak respectfully, have a quiet conversation with God several times a day, and spend another hour or two a day (EVERY DAY) helping someone other than ourselves, that wonderful things can happen.
What Gives Me Hope
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
I would make finding funds for, and building and staffing, community workshop/shelters that would be open 24/7 for homeless and working poor, offering everything from total shelter to drug/alcohol rehab, to rent/utility assistance and job-training and placement. We MUST start taking better care of our own people in this country.
What/who changed my life and why
"My Life", with Michael Keaton and Nicole Kidman, was a 90's movie that shocked me into realizing most of us will NEVER get the chance to record "goodbyes" to our loved ones before passing on, that moment of leaving this life could be tomorrow -- or tonight! I have NEVER stopped being aware of the fragility of human life, since, and breathe more deeply of life's rich goodness hundreds of times a day more now than I used to. A beautiful sunrise, my son's voice, one of my cats purring beside me, a favorite old song or the sweet scent of flowers from my garden -- I remind myself that these things are good, that life is wonderful, and tell everyone around me "Love you" every day, as if it were my last...
