I want to appologize for not having the story about Angle here. It was deleted somehow, and I have been in the hospital and have not had the chance to re-write it.
My son and I came to a small town in Tennessee a few years ago to live on the land that was left to us by my grandparents. Our home is snuggleled back far from the road and you can't see it from there so you would have to know where you were driving if you were to come up our long road. There is, however, a small bit of land owned by some bigwig in the city down the hill from us that put old mobile homes on the property and rented it out to whoever. We never knew who they were. At one time just visiting up here, (this used to be our summer get away) the folks that lived here had a puppy that was always playing with my son, but that was about 2 years before we came up here.
We were just settling in and my son came to me and said he found a dog and she was hurt really bad. I went outside to look, and to my horror it was that same cute little puppy we used to play with. Her neck looked like someone had tried to chop it of , but amazingly she was still chipper and wanted to be loved. This was on a Sunday, I couldn't take her anywhere, So we let her sleep on our porch that is screened in and gave her food and water.
I didn't have the money to take her to a vet, so I called a local vet and she gave me a number to a lady from the ASPCA here in our town. I called her and in ten minutes she was her. Her Name was Susan. She looked at the dog, which I didn't think would live over night, and she said she was suprised she was still a live with an injury like that. That is when I decided to name her Angel. She had to have someone from above looking out for her. Susan took pictures and we went to where the dog was living and saw why her neck was severed the way it was. On the porch, there was a plasic coated thin wire covered in blood that she literaly chewed and struggled herself free from. There was also blood all over the porch, too. The had moved our and left her and two kittens for dead in the heat of August without food or water.
Susan immediatly took here to the Hardin County Veterinarian Hospital, (and the kittens also) and the vet said that this was the worst case of abuse and neglect that he had ever seen. He wanted the people responsible in jail.
So a few calls to find the owner of the property and who his last tenents were were an easy task and the ASPCA stepped in and they were charged with 3 counts of abuse and neglect.
After Angels surgury, she came home with me and I was her foster mom until she was better. Then she went home with Susan so she would have other dogs to play with. The kittens were in good health after a few shots and were adoped that same week.
P. S. Please see pictures I posted....They show actual surgury scenes, so some may be too graphic for small children so use your own judgement when viewing them. Thanks.
