Just to say... I'm so glad to have found a social networking site that actually cares! I'm hoping to be more active in finding and spreading news items and other helpful things once my life settles down - I'm currently wrapped up in my fledgeling ethical business and it has taken over my life completely. So apologies friends! I know I neglect you :( But I do try to take action every day, which is really why I am here.
I'm an artisan and crafter, in the past I was self employed doing art and environmental workshops with children, and I'm thinking about starting that up again. I'm happiest near any body of water, whether that be the sea, a waterfall or a rutted tyre track puddle. I love camping. A critter doesn't have to be cute for me to care; slugs feel pain too! I'm new here and still working out how this thing works, so on care2 I'd say I'm clumsy.
I live by the principles of tactical frivolity, senseless beauty and freedom. I believe that every woman benefits from owning a sewing machine and a drill. And every man, come to think of it.
What Gives Me Hope
Love, beauty, that will do for now :)
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
Permanently sacking all politicians, including myself of course
What/who changed my life and why
As a child I saw my local environment being destroyed and degraded. Meadows I played in ploughed up for roads and shopping developments, the ponds I collected tadpoles in and watched dragonflies fly over drained and paved over, the trees I climbed in chopped down. The apathy of the adults around me at that time astounded me. I decided right then as a child that I wouldn't grow up to be one of those uncaring apathetic adults.
Thank you for the green star and lovely words! My mom just got back from a visit to London (she was born in Kingston-on-Thames) and she had a great time visiting her old haunts! Have a great rest of the week and weekend, Your friend in Washington state, Lynn
