Hello my name is Sharon. My family and I are the proud owners of Maya and Mojo! They are 2 black Labradors at the age of 2 and 1/2 months. They are just the love of our lives just like our kids. We have 3 kids Hashauna, Alaye' and Iyana and they are just in love with Maya N Mojo. It all started when my older daughter begged us for a dog for Christmas. I just figured she did so well in school that she deserved to have a dog. The only problem that I had was my husband because he just didn't want one at allllll!! I went to a public animal shelter by myself to take a look at the dogs that they had. I have to say that I just cried going there because they just didn't take care of the dogs. There must've been 150 dogs there and they were all neglected. It ripped my heart apart  so I decided to leave. Now I'm an American live in Mallorca Spain (a small island) so I figured this was the only place to find a dog until I looked on the internet. I found a beautiful shelter. It was new and it looked like paradise for animals. I printed the address and decided to go and check it out myself without telling anyone. I went and just fell in love with the dogs and their surroundings. These dogs were so well taken care of I knew for a fact I would find a dog there for my daughter which I did!!! I told the woman that I wanted my daughter to see the dog first before I made any decisions. I told her I would be back with my daughter on Saturday it was now Thursday.
   All I did was dream about this beautiful 2 year old dog that I met and loved so much. I prayed that my daughter would love her too. I finally told my daughter that we were going to look at dogs. She was just overwhelmed at the idea!! I have to admit that my husband was very angry with me. I just told him to come with me and see for himself. He was angry but I got him to come with us . It was now Saturday!! My daughter was soooo excited on the trip to the shelter and I was tooo. When we got there I looked everywhere for the woman and finally saw her. She looked at me and told me that I have bad luck and that someone took the dog that I wanted.I was devastated that she told me that. I wanted to cry! My husband said " Yea well lets go"!!! Then he turned around and there was a little 7 week black lab looking straight at him. He picked up the dog and started petting her. My daughter was standing with her father petting and kissing the dog as well. So here I am still disappointed that the other dog was gone and I'm telling the lady that I don't see anything else because my family wanted a small dog like the one that she gave away. I also told her that my husband wouldn't go for a big or med size dog. Then all of a sudden out of the blue the woman says "Well ya may want to look over there at your husband" My husband was totally in love with the lab and he stood over in the corner with my daughter kissing petting the her. I said" Honey you would'nt want this dog would you ? It's going to be to big" He says" Hey get what you want to get it's your choice" Besides I love this dog" and your daughter does too. I was in shock!!! We brought Maya home the same day and she has been a part of our lives now at 12 weeks old. Then a funny thing happened when my husband and I had to go to Romania for a job in December. So I asked the shelter if it's possible to hold the dog for a few days until we got back. They said no problem because many people do this when they go on holidays. I was relieved to know that they would watch my new babygirl Maya. So we go to the shelter to bring Maya and the lady at the shelter tells me that she will put her in the same area as her twin brother. I asked "TWIN BROTHER"? When my husband saw Maya's brother he fell in love allllll over again and said to me that I want him too. He says that if the dog is still here when we come back then it shall be ours!! Well, I just didn't believe that he would be there because he was sooo cute and sweet. I knew for a fact someone would take him by the time we got back. When we finally get back from Romania the first thing we did was go to get Maya. When we got there she was playing with her brother. My husband said "See he waited for us" To make a long story short.......His name is Mojo!! Now our lives are complete!! I will put pictures up very soon so you could see our new babies. Looking forward to meeting all of you.
