One of the issues I'm working on right now is the horrific situation in Korea, China, & the Philippines, where dogs & cats are savagely tortured so that they will "taste better" & the men will be more "virile."  It is a sick & gruesome nightmare for hundreds of thousands of animals, primarily dogs... their lives are torment & agony from the time they're born until their mind-numbingly vicious & violent end.  When they're taken to market, their arms are torn from the sockets & tied up behind them.  Jagged tin cans are forced over their muzzles & they lie helpless in excruciating pain while they watch their companions being beaten to death, knowing they are next.  Their fur is burned off with blow torches. Children walk by & watch these hideous displays of cruelty & cowardice, & become desensitized to it.  As you know, once someone no longer finds these types of atrocities shocking, there is little hope that they will ever experience any kind of compassion for animals certainly, nor for people most likely. These scenes replay daily in my mind & haunt my thoughts & dreams at night.  I can't rest until the world knows what is happening to these helpless animals & enough pressure is put on these countries to finally put these dog meat markets out of business.  Please help me spread the word, & encourage others to boycott products from the Philippines, Korea, & China.  I also have a petition you can sign.  Please read the information in the link below, & thanks in advance for your help!

What Gives Me Hope This new administration~ the fact that Bush & his cronies are finally out. (I can finally exhale.)
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by As president/elected king of the world, I'd outlaw greed~it is the root of all evil. Make sure everyone had adequate housing, food, & healthcare. Use 3/4 of defense budget for education & R&D for alternative energy sources. Open shelters & reserves for all animals, & outlaw all hunting. Review all prison cases; move all repeat violent offenders (including rapists & child molesters) to an island where they could set up their own society but never leave the island. Free internet for all, except people caught abusing it. Set up global conferencing to discuss the needs of all nations as they arise, & a volunteer "army" to implement life-saving programs, especially in under-developed countries.
What/who changed my life and why I've had many influences over my lifetime that left profound changes in me, I'll have to come back to this, but first & foremost, my parents.
