"If we do show mercy and compassion to the animals, how do we expect the Gods to show mercy and compassion to us?" a quote from Gautama Buddha. If we destroy the Animal Nations we destroy ourselves. My interests are various, and listed below. In fact, what is listed below represents merely a small part of them. I spent the first nearly thirty years of my life in Europe, almost twenty in Switzerland, five in England, three in France. I was born in Santa Barbara, but left when I was six months old. I am of German, Scottish, English and Mohawk heritage. I am currently researching some possible Cherokee/Chickamauga roots as well. My ideals have never changed--I remain aggressively for the environment, human rights, racial equality, justice, etc.-- but I am also frustrated by the progress made even by the champions of these causes over the last forty years. I was brought up with an appreciation of critical thinking and a respect for reasoned debate which is sorely absent today from public discourse. Current events are alarming, and the current rhetoric seems to have gone insane. I am not, however, one who is content to watch from the side-lines. These are times that do not allow us that luxury. I do intend to do my small part to make a difference. Spiritually, I am a traditionalist and I strive to walk in the Way of my teachers.
"Let me be a free man, free to travel, free to stop, free to work, free to trade where I choose, free to choose my own teachers, free to follow the religion of my fathers, free to talk, think and act for myself -- and I will obey every law or submit to the penalty." -Chief Joseph;
MELODY, May all your wishes and dreams come true!! And as you celebrate the day of your birth, may peace and beauty fill the Earth!!! Warm blessings and joy... Becca
I've looked through every crack and corner, I've searched this whole world through. But I could never find a lovelier friend, than the one I found in you!
You can take it to the bank my friend, for I swear this much is true, that all the gold at the rainbow's end, could never equal you!
Friendship comes from the heart and soul and helps us endure all of life's struggles. It gives us hope when we are down, it gives us dreams and inspiration and a glimpse of the universe. It reminds us that no thing is ever impossible with the gift of love and friendship! Thank you for being my friend and a shining star... Becca
