Am I the only non-God person on here? I didn't realize there were so few of us.. I mean.. me. Not that I have anything against God in general, I am just shocked at how many profiles on here are praising a God (mostly the Christian one so far). Kind of awkward when I am the odd one out. Doesn't change my stance. I'm not running out to purchase a Bible, Quoran, Gutenberg, Torah, etc.

I guess what I don't understand is how there are so many religions and they all believe they are the ONE and the ONLY ONE. And that, honestly, scares me. How can you take a theory with no proof and claim that it is fact. That's like accusing me of being an inter-galactic species of alien from the far off undisclosed planet of beta-alpha-omega-acideous (and, no, we don't capitalize planets in my galaxy). But then, what if I deny being an alien? How would you prove I was? Precisely, you couldn't. You could claim that you JUST KNOW, but you couldn't PROVE it.

Therefore, I ask you to not tell me I am going to HELL if I don't believe in YOUR GOD, because it just makes me not like you, think that you are unintelligent and that you are incapable of following even YOUR GOD's teachings of ACCEPTING others and their beliefs. I accept yours, I don't condemn you, so why would you deny me the same courtesy? Please don't try to take away my rights as a non-Christian, as I do not try to take away yours.

You have the freedom to believe and I have the freedom not to. You have the freedom to save yourself for marriage and I have the freedom to mate with a partner that I may never marry. Isn't freedom a beautiful thing? I have the freedom to say "hello" to you on the street and smile at you in a kind way, as a gesture of goodwill. I have the freedom to say "thank you" for sharing your views with me (whether they be political, spiritual, or general) and allowing me to share mine with you. I would never try to harm you, take away your freedom, or make this world an unsafe place for you. Please keep that in mind each time you sign a ballot taking away my freedom as a women and atheist.

Every initiative I have ever voted for, every statement I have ever placed on a petition, every motivation is based on the belief that NO ONE should suffer unjustly in any way, NO ONE should be oppressed in any way, AND NO ONE should strip another living being of their right to live their lives in peace. I harm no one. I seek to find ways to educate people, rather than ridding the world of them or oppressing them because they will not conform. We do not live in a box. We do not live in a monochromatic world. We can not pretend that pain does not exist or that we ourselves do not cause it. We can not pretend that problems will go away on their own. And we can not treat mere symptoms and ignore the root of those symptoms.

Thank you for all your wonderful contributions to this planet, no matter what religion you are, no matter what race, what planet, and above all what mindset. The fact that you are actively seeking to make this world a better place FOR ALL OF US is the key element in making you a good person and someone others can look up to.
