I'm constantly getting older, but not sure if I'm getting wiser at the same rate.
My Philosophy
All life is inherently valuable, meaningful and worthwhile. Only humans assume the power to render life meaningless.
What Gives Me Hope

If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
Get rid of Mayors, Governors, Presidents, etc . . . destroy the divide that separates the "Haves" (politicians, entertainers, professional athletes) from the "HaveNots" (the rest of us). Put an end to America's endless fascination with the Cult of Personality.
What/who changed my life and why
BOOK: Vladimir Nabokov's LOLITA. A subject approaching taboo that is dealt with so tenderly as to reduce the average reader to tears. Masterful. Irony: Probably the finest purveyor of the English language was Russian. Go figure . . .
MOVIES: Fandango, Racing with the Moon, Hud, Cool Hand Luke, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, The Outlaw Josey Wales. Take your pick; they're all great.
PEOPLE: Django Reinhardt, Donald Fagen & Walter Becker (a/k/a Steely Dan), Thelonious Monk, John Coltrane, Kurt Cobain, Bill Evans, Brian Wilson & the rest of the Beach Boys, Rickie Lee Jones, Duke Ellington & Vladimir Nabokov. BECAUSE: These are the most talented & gifted people I've been exposed to.
"The cradle rocks above an abyss, and common sense tells us that our existence is but a brief crack of light between two eternities of darkness." -- Vladimir Nabokov, from his autobiography, SPEAK, MEMORY.
