I have seen my share of life's adventures, good and bad, highs and lows, trials, adversities, battles and failures that teach life hard and big lessons. God takes us through dark and turbulent moments of life so that we can discover the true colors of our lives - the hidden part of us inside us - what and who we truly are. The prolific 19th century author, Charles Dickens wrote, " We forge the chains we wear in life." Breaking free from the prison and bondage of drugs and alcohol addiction are some of the battles i have had to fight and conquer.
one of the philosophies I have learned on life's road is , " The best use of life is to spend it on something that outlasts it" ( William James). Out here in my local community, I'm participating in life, as a youth worker, providing growing girls and boys with information that could steer them away from delinquent and destructive life paths of drugs, alcohol, violence and crime. For me, it's not enough to merely occupy the earth space. wherever we are o the face of the planet, our lives should improve society, and make a difference in the lives of others.
Friendly, and trying to live as a source of information, inspiration and encouragement to young people in a crooked and drifting world. My favourite quote is, " When you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced. Live your life so that when you die, the world cries and you rejoice." (Cherokee Indians)
To leave the world better and more beautiful than I found it.
What Gives Me Hope
People who write inspirational poems like this:
To love someone more dearly everyday,
To help a wandering child to find his way,
To ponder O’er a noble thought, and pray,
And smile when evening falls,
This is my task.
To follow truth as blind men long for light,
To do my best from dawn of day till night,
To keep my heart fit for His sight,
An answer when He calls.
This is my task. (MAUDE LOUIS RAY)
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
Give every mum, dad and young person in the world a copy of Benjamin Carson's inspirational book, "GIFTED HANDS" Build a youth education and development center in every community on the African continent.
What/who changed my life and why
I was living a rebellious and meaningless life on the streets - hooked on drugs, abandoned by everyone. God reached out to me and gave me a second chance to start over.
There are two kinds of people in the world. Those who are sitting on the fence of life as spectators, sowing no seeds towards the progress of humanity. And people who bravely step forward and participate actively in life as change agents, change makers, change crusaders and world changers" (AKIN ADELAKUN)
