           Mother Earth

           Her eyes
           sore and stinging,
           filled with deadly toxins
           produced by those that she nurtures,
           she weeps.

           Sad tears
           of acid rain
           streaking her lovely face,
           she valiantly strives to keep on
           giving.

            The Seal Hunt

         Pure white and innocent
           lying on the ice
          he’s only experienced
           a few days of life

         Helpless little baby
          unable yet to swim
           no way to escape
           as the hunter clubs him

           Beaten without mercy
           the seal’s blood stains the ice
           without checking if he’s conscious
           into his skin they slice

         Murdered so cruelly
           just for his pelt
           he needed his skin
         more than anyone else!

About Me	After going through an extremely dark and difficult period of my life I emerged with the gift of poetry, writing my first poem in June 1999. Since then writing has become a great love and also led to an interest in web page design when I started a site of my poetry, called Pieces Of My Heart, in June 2000. Poetry is the response of our innermost being to the ecstasy, the agony and the all-embracing mystery of life.
