Consider making your yard or property a Certified Wildlife Habitat by the National Wildlife Federation. This will help give back to nature and will benefit your whole neighborhood. Offer food, water, cover and places to raise young. Use plants native to your area.

Wild Fact About Me As a child, I lived near a very large, multi-acre track of woods. It was there that I spent most of my time; observing nature from my treehouse. I experienced the wonders of nature, chiggers and all!
My Philosophy If we don't take care of the health of this planet, everthing else we do will fail, including our existance. Our children are losing that sense of wonder that can only be found in nature. We need to get them back outside, away from electronics.
What Gives Me Hope Knowing that there are millions like me out there who do more than just talk the talk. I'd like to hear what you are doing!
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by I do know that we need to focus on quality education and move past equating wealth with the accumulation of things. I would move faster with renewable, clean energy. I would protect more land, forests and wetlands for wildlife. I would crack down on corporate responsibility. I would get our kids exposed more to science, the environment and the wonders of nature.
What/who changed my life and why There are a few books that have inspired me: "Last Child in the Woods", "Bringing Home Nature", and "Hot, Flat, and Crowded".

The New Jersey Gardening/Farming Meetup Group is planning a Pot luck ~ Earthday Celebration on April 19th starting at 1pm at Basil Brook Organic Pharm. There will be entertainment, free table set up space for crafters, artists and other Meetup groups. There's also plenty of room for those who wish to campout for the night and a hiking trail runs through the back of the farm along the brook.
