I'm a 53 y.o. woman living in Seattle w/my cat, Milo. I've had M.S. for 27 years and it killed me numerous times, but I was always resucitated, so I must be meant to be here. I'm basically a loner, have a few friends, but am happiest and most comfortable in my home in my bed. I have to write everyday, I can't help myself and sometimes it feels like it's coming thru me. I'd like to get a book of my poems published. I love animals, especially dogs, and was a Vet Tech before I had to stop working. I've worked with insane (literally) children and adolecents, on boats of all kinds, and LOVE swimming in a warm, calm ocean. I hope by the way I handle the M.S. and how it affects my life is an inspiration to others, making this a better world. I'd love to go hang gliding but can't figure out how and probably can't afford it, either. But I'd still love to. I believe you should treat all living beings with respect and dignity and I do mean ALL. To me, animals have souls and spirits and that's what draws me to them, and them to me. I love all of nature, including the weather, it all interests me. I have auburn curly hair and blue eyes. I am 5 ft. tall exactly.
I use a walker for short walks and a wheelchair for longer trips.
I am a better person for having been in a 15 year relationship until I went into hospice. 17 years later, we are still friends/family and our individual families still think of each as theirs, I'm still, "Aunt Lin" to my ex-partners biological neice. The M.S. affects me cognitively, which most people don't know M.S. can do. It affects my digestive system, my back and, of course, my legs. But I am a fearless warrior. I practice meditation, contemplation and mindfulness daily, as best I can. Philosophically, I lean toward Buddhist-type beliefs.
I love Ellene DeGeneress.
Be kind to yourself and others, kindness can tramsform the world into one of peace.
What Gives Me Hope

If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
overhaul the medical system so that everyone is covered fairly, and alllow anyone who wants to, to be able to marry their partner, as in straight relationships
What/who changed my life and why
My ex-partner because she continues to help me learn more about myself and grow in my life. I feel fortunate for that and for the fact that we continue to love each other very much. She is my family. And each of our families are the others' and always will be. We are soulmates.
