Wow it's been a long time since I have written here... and to be perfectly honest, I don't get a lot of time to write these days. Though I do miss it.
I have to say it was amazing to watch the American elections, and to see the first ever African American President elected!! What an historical event. Though I am Canadian, it holds an importance to me as well. As in American politics, Canadian politics there has never been the thought or hope that a person of Colour (any ethinc group) could hold the office of a leader in our countries (for us it is Prime Minister). And though we have had a Female (though a rather short run - taking over from a outgoing Prime Minister) I have hope that everyone can be seen as an equal and can be whatever they dream of.
I would tend to think that all those in the US and in Canada who have fought for equal rights for all who have gone on before us are rejoicing in what has happened.
For two Countries who would protest that they are THE places to live in the world - they have sorely lacked in freedoms for all! When someone can walk down the street, walk into a store and be followed around by the sales clerk just because of the colour of their skin, or bullied because of their sexuality - I would dare say it is not a great place to live and should not say that it is a land of oppertunity for all.
AND YET what has happened over the last few weeks in the US gives hope of change and true freedom for all!! That there is a shift in the universe for the better.
The task a head of President Obama... is one that he can not do alone... as a famous president said before him - "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country!!" This is the challenge before the American people, to support their President and work along side him and take hold and claim for themselves their futures and their country!! He has some huge decissions ahead that can radically change the country and the world. TO end a war that is in my humble opion becoming Vetinam all over again - a war that can not be won by weapons!! TO try to ease the ressession for the American People. TO regain some stats in the rest of the world as a leader!!
There is a lot of hard work ahead for Him and for you the American people... Our task as your nieghbours to the North is to support you and help you as we can...
Thank you AMERICA for giving us in Canada hope that things can change and we can elect a person(S) to our respected highest office that will help us change our own countries and each others!!
Blessings to you and to your future!!!
Your Sister to the North!!

I would describe myself as a frog which as a totem represents rebirth and hope. I am honest about who I am, I know where I am going and what I want in a relationship. I love Life and all it brings (The Good/Bad/and Ugly)
