How This "Dream" Began...

The “vision” for Jim's Projects began back in April of 2004, after visiting a young doctor friend of mine in Taraz, Kazakhstan, and seeing all the good we could do together to help the children of Central and East Asia. You can read much more about me and "Jim's Projects" by going to www.jimsprojects.webs.com. It was my visit to Kazakhstan in 2004, however,  that got this small aid organization originally started. Since then, the range of work we wish to accomplish has grown and diversified with each passing month. Every new person we meet leads us in new and interesting
directions.
We currently have wonderful people and
well-established organizations that are happy and eager to work with us in Kazakhstan, Vietnam, China, and Indonesia. Financing for these kinds of efforts seems to be a never-ending battle in this world. We have accomplished some positive things over the past few years, but so much more needs to be done. For the sake of those who will be helped by our work, we can’t wait any longer. Our “Projects”, though mainly to help orphaned children in Asia, actually cover a wide range of people. Please see our website's "Our Projects" page to read more about what we wish to accomplish in the months and years to come. These projects include assisting a group of eye doctors who supply free cataract surgery for the poor and elderly of Nepal and Tibet, and a free dental clinic for the poor of Almaty, Kazakhstan. Our primary goal however will always be helping the orphaned children in locations wherever we do our work. The clock definitely feels like it is "ticking"!!! We have a deep and sincere desire to complete all that you will see on our website, and we will accomplish it all as soon as we have the funding to do so. There is so much good waiting every day to be completed. I hope you will see it in your heart to help us now too. Please feel free to write to me if you have any further questions. I hope we can work together from this day forward, to make this a better world for us all.  "A Candle Loses Nothing... by Lighting Another Candle." Spend a few moments contemplating the meaning of those words. It's a beautiful quote, and it says a huge amount about life, and about how I want "Jim's Projects" to do all of it's work in this world. Let's bring some "light" to those who need it most. Together, we truly can make it happen.

       Thank you for thinking of “Jim’s Projects.”

“Of all the words of tongue or pen,
The saddest are these: ‘It might have been!’”

    American poet John Greenleaf Whittier
                   (1807-1892)
              ********************

I think of those words a lot lately, in regards to all we could accomplish with “Jim’s Projects” if only we had the financial ability to do it. Let's not let ANY of this wonderful, positive potential slip-away from those we could be helping!!! It is all there just waiting to happen. And many caring people are waiting daily, in many different locations, to help me as well. I pray each and every day that it will not end as the words of Whittier’s small poem say. Together, I firmly believe that we can make it ALL happen!!! I hope you will agree, and I hope together we can turn this into “what IS”… not simply “what might have been.”

Take care everyone.   Jim.

Please also see:  http://onedollarcanchangetheworld.webs.com/ for further information on how you can HELP SPREAD THE WORD about "Jim's Projects", and to read more on what we desire to accomplish in this world. Every particle of assistance from each of you, no matter how small, truly helps to get us where we need to go. Never think, "it is not big enough to make it worth doing." I assure you, whatever you can do, it IS worthwhile. Even if it is simply showing one extra friend our website, to help us be known by more caring people, it CAN make a difference in this world. And it is very much appreciated as well.
Thanks again, everyone!

Mother Theresa's Philosophy

======================================================= Mother Teresa hung a copy of this poem on a wall of the original orphanage she founded in Calcutta, way back when she was just getting started. I think it says about all you need to know about life. I hope you enjoy it too…
===============================================================

People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered; Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; Succeed anyway.

People may cheat you; Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; Give the world the best you've got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God; It was never between you and them anyway…

==========================================================

And here is one of MY favorite poems. It is  By William Blake 1757–1827:
The poem is called-   Auguries of Innocence:
******************************************
To see the World in a grain of sand

And Heaven in a wild flower

To hold Infinity in the palm of your hand

And Eternity in an hour...

****************************
The poem is actually much longer than this, but those first 4 lines are what I always loved. If you ever looked into a tiny child's eyes as they wonder at a ladybug, or show such joy as you blow on a dandelion top that has gone to seed, and the little "puffs" are taken away by the wind, you will know where those words came from. The little ones truly DO "See an entire world in a grain of sand." They truly DO see "Heaven in a wildflower." They can marvel at a small snail walking along a garden wall, and frequently try to explain "amazing things" that THEY see, but do not have the language to explain to you what it is. That is what is so very special about the tiny children. We adults should take a lesson from those little ones, and try to see the beauty and the "wonder" that is all around us each day. It IS there!!! If we just have the eyes to see it, as the tiny children do in a completely natural way. "Innocence" is among the most special qualities of them all. That is why I love this poem as I do. I hope you will now love it too.       Jim.

The Power of Prayer

      I fully and completely believe in the power of sincere and heart-felt prayer to bring positive and wonderful things into our lives, and into the lives of those we pray for. I do! You know what else I believe? That alone, it may do almost nothing!!! But combined with hard-work, endless persistence, and REFUSING TO EVER GIVE UP ON OUR “DREAMS”, then we truly have something meaningful in life. It takes a combination of all of those things to make it happen in this world. “God helps those who help themselves”, as the old saying goes. Daily sincere prayer is a wonderful thing, and I do it all the time. But you can pray until you die of old age, and chances are if that is all you do, nothing will happen. You must demonstrate to God that you are serious about your prayers and dreams, and you do that through ACTIONS. Not simply through words and thoughts, but through never giving up. When you do that, God just may step in and supply that little needed “shove” to push you over the top, and get you where you want to go! It’s the Power of Prayer combined with hard-work, persistence, and a refusal to ever stop trying… that, in my opinion, is how you make those “dreams come true.” It’s just a thought I wanted to pass along to everyone.

Take care!        Jim.
