We tried to make the transition from the name "Jim's Projects" to
"The Brighter Days Foundation", but it seems that the old name is just too "ingrained" in everyone's minds, to make this work. Even I, Jim, always seem to call it "Jim's Projects", and then I correct myself and say, "Which is NOW called The Brighter Days Foundation." Old habits die hard, I guess. For 3 years, night-and-day, 7-days-per-week, I thought of it as "Jim's Projects", sent out countless e-mails as "Jim's Projects", and discussed everything on the phone by that name too, so I guess that is how it will stay. As of July 7th, 2008, we are BACK to being "Jim's Projects" again. And now, I just pray whatever name we are, we can get out there and help lots of kids, in lots of places. As the old saying goes, "A rose by any other name, would smell as sweet." So the name is not really important anyway. It is what we DO, that makes us worthwhile, right? So I just wanted to say that the new, NEW name (which is the OLD name) is who we are again. I THINK that should do it for a while!!! Just wanted to make that "correction."         Jim.

The “vision” for my “Asian Orphanage Projects” began 3 years ago, after visiting a young doctor friend of mine in Kazakhstan, and seeing all the good we could do together to help the children of Central and East Asia. That is how “Jim’s Projects”, our small aid organization, originally got started (details of all our “Project” plans can be seen at www.jimsprojects.org). We currently have wonderful, well-established organizations happy and eager to work with us in Kazakhstan, China, India, Russia, Togo (West Africa), and Belize. 2 ½ years ago, I was accepted into a “Church Program” that committed to sponsoring us for $3.2 million dollars so we could begin our work, and the paperwork and contracts were all completed, approved, and accepted. We have been waiting day-to-day ever since for them to come through with their promises. The people continue to suffer, and that large source of funding will always be available “soon.” For the sake of those who will be helped by our work, we can’t wait anymore. Our “Projects” actually cover a wide range, and include free cataract surgery for the poor and elderly people of Nepal and Tibet, a free dental clinic for the poor of Almaty, Kazakhstan, an “Animal Sanctuary” on the island of Caye Caulker (Belize), and digging deep wells and supplying malaria medications to the people around the city of Lome, in Togo. There is no time left to wait for this major source of funding to be delivered. We need to FULLY develop all of these programs as soon as we possibly can. Please see our website to get an expanded description of what we are trying to accomplish with “Jim’s Projects.” We have the most sincere desire to get out there and complete all that you will see on our website, and we WILL accomplish it all very quickly, as soon as we have the sufficient funding to do it. The promises made by our current funding source are sadly “overdue.” So much good is waiting every day to be completed. So much time has already been wasted with these frustrating delays. But with one good person's benevolent help, we can bring all of these wonderful “Projects” FULLY to life immediately.
