We are petitioning the State of Utah to ban all gas chambers and mandate that barbituate injection be the only method of euthanasia. 

We need volunteers to help obtain signatures on paper petitions, pass out flyers, organize rallys, etc.  Utah residents only, please!  But, we will not turn down any offers for help from people from other states as far as advice and sponsorship.

About Me I've always been someone who adores furry faces -- especially cats. After all this time, I have decided to open a cat rescue of my own. At present, I am in the research and development stage. I will work with any rescues in my area that need a volunteer and are willing to teach me what they know. I'm a hands-on learner, so it is far more beneficial for me to learn by doing rather than reading books. Plus, I want to help now!!

I support Winging Cat Rescue not only financially, but I have been forwarding all the posts they have made about the kitties they are either trying to save or have rescued without sponsor. I rally with a friend of mine to save those kitties that are in danger of euthanasia. We have saved three kittens by forwarding and doing a "bulletin storm" on MySpace!! WCR is my inspiration! I can only hope that someday I will be able to do what they do!

I am also an "out and proud" bisexual. I support gay/lesbian marriage and also GLBT rights.

Personal Stuff:

I love to write! I am on Live Journal and blog daily. It is "Friends Only" but it is something I enjoy and helps me with my problems. I have started to write several books, but get blocked along the way. When you have two 7-year-olds running about, it's hard to concentrate at times! Yes, I am a mommy of four. Two kids and two fur kids. I'd have more fur kids, but the Salt Lake County ordinance states that you can have only two adult animals of the same species in one residence. Irks me! Sooo, part of the reason for the rescue!

I am married to a disabled Desert Storm Veteran and I'm a step-mom to a Marine. He came home safely. He tells me all the time that I am more of a mom to him than his birth mother... Something that I take as a great compliment!

Yes, I am an atheist/LaVey Satanist... But before you judge me, read this, please... LaVey Satanism is VERY different from Devil Worshipping. As a LaVey Satanist (I am an independant, not a card carrying member of the Church of Satan) we believe that "you should not kill a non-human animal unless attacked or for food." This is quoted from the Eleven Satanic Rules of the Earth. However, in my case, I feel that every animal should have a chance to live.

I have a very strange gift when it comes to animals. I am able to talk to and understand them. I have photographic proof that I have made a cow smile. I see it as a gift, not something that is odd or strange. I see this as a strength that will help me with my endeavor as an animal rescuer!

I just bought my "Dream Car" which is a Chrysler PT Cruiser Touring Edition. One of my new fave things to do is drive my car and listen to music! You mess with my car, you mess with me! I named her "Baby." And Baby she is. I've never had a car this nice in my life. This is why I had to write a blurb about her!

I work in the Banking industry as a Treasury Management Processing Specialist. I love my job! At the end of the day, I am tired but happy. I'm on here once a week usually because I cannot use the Internet at work for personal use. Bear with me, I do read all my messages and will reply in due time.

Wild Fact About Me I used to be a police officer. I left because I was told that if I had to kill an animal, it would be to slit it's throat. Not to mention the fact that I came face to face with a gas euthanasia chamber and I am haunted by it to this day... That was 10 years ago!
My Philosophy Every living thing has the right to live. They also have the right to die in a respectful and humane manner if they are sick and not treatable. However, I think that any otherwise healthy and treatable animal deserves to live and escape euthanasia. I fully support No-Kill shelters and fellow rescuers!!
What Gives Me Hope There are so many like-minded people all over the nation. They do what I am striving to do. I am not alone.
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by I would get free healthcare for everyone. And I would make all animal shelters no kill. I would also ban, dismantle and destroy ALL gas chambers and not allow the sale, manufacture and distribution of such monstrous devices.
What/who changed my life and why The day I saw that goddamn (sorry for the expletive!)gas chamber. I knew then that I should do something... Anything... But I didn't know what or how. I do now, and I will not give up!
