Hello everyone. :) My name is Alyxandra, but I usually go by Alyx. Ever since I was a child I've had a love for plants and animals. I was raised on herbal medicine and holistic healing methods, and I've always been surrounded by wonderful animals. I have never been without at least 3 pets. We've seen so many come and go; but they've all been special to me. They are akin to my family and dearest friends. The same goes for plants. My profound love for plants began to emerge when I was a teenager, and I started learning more about them; house plants, vegetables, fruits, herbs - and finally, when I was 20 years old, I decided I was going to learn more (than I already had, from my mother) about herbs and herbalism, holistic healing and health. It struck a chord deep within my soul, and positively sang - not just called - out to me. As for my passion for art; I've been an artist practically my entire life. I loved to use water colors as a young child, and in my pre-teen and all through my teenage years, I was always drawing and painting. I was inspired by my mother, once again, to start learning how to do macrame and weave hemp jewelry, and thus my passion for this was born. I began collecting all sorts of unique beads and materials to incorporate into my pieces, and learning different kinds of knots and patterns. I began selling my hemp work at local band shows (as my mother also manages and books local bands) and eventually selling some of it online, and setting up booths at arts and crafts shows and festivals. I've become quite serious about it and am now in the process of setting up an online store (apart from my myspace page.) I plan on continuing to make and sell my hemp creations, as well as other handmade goods in the near future; while I pursue my ultimate goal to be an herbalist and holistic healer. I've recently become extremely interested in a holistic/energy-healing practice called the LifeLine Technique. I'd love to take the time to explain it here but I think some of you might benefit more from simply going to the website: infiniteloveandgratitude.com :) My chiropractor and over-all healer/therapist, Dr. Kathi Maher, is a LifeLine practitioner, and since I've been going to her, and working with her, I have become infinitely inspired - and I can say from my own personal experience that the LifeLine is truly amazing and wonderful, to say the very least. If you happen to be reading this and live in the North Texas (Dallas, Ft. Worth) area, I highly recommend visiting her! Her website is healthbyhandswellness.com :) Now, to conclude my posting here; last, but certainly not least, as to my profound love of music (which for me falls along the same lines as art) I have been in love with - and surrounded by - music my entire life as well. It won't come as a surprise that my earliest influence into my musical taste was through my mother. ;) Since I was 4 years old, my musical loves have evolved from alternative and classic rock, 80's and 90's pop and R&B, to smooth jazz, to ambient electronica and trance music, to various other types of electronic, industrial, alternative and experimental forms of music, as well as rock and heavy metal, to Irish/celtic, native american, and world-fusion. Music has deeply touched my life and become a part of my soul... but I believe many of you can relate to that. ;) Thank you very much for taking the time to read this. Most of this information is mentioned in the sections below, as well as a few other special things. ;) Namaste to all... and Infinite Love and Gratitude.
I believe that we, as humans, should not be limited by gender roles in society. I believe that love has no limits, and that gender and sexuality are fluid. I'm also profoundly empathetic... I can sometimes even feel what another is feeling physically.
My Philosophy
Your thoughts, your beliefs, your emotions, your intentions, your actions have POWER. What you send out is what you get back. What you believe is what you receive. Judge not what you don't first understand.
What Gives Me Hope
Keeping a positive attitude. Seeing/meeting others who are mindful and compassionate. If we all truly want things to change, they can, and they will.
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
Making sure everyone - including animals and pets - were treated as equally and fairly as possible. By making sure that wildlife and forests/nature preserves were indeed preserved. By supporting those who make their living by farming, art, musicianship, craftsmanship, small business, etc. By supporting sustainable resources. I could go on.
What/who changed my life and why
Myself. My family and friends. Learning about my health - body, mind and spirit. The Power of Infinite Love and Gratitude. My belief that everything is connected has been strengthened and supported by all that I have learned. I appreciate life in an entirely new way... more and more... every day.

Choose something, and then put all of who you are into it. Give it your absolute. Make it everlasting. Place all that invisible force that comes from within, and which we call life, into it. Place all this into that action. Decide what it is you want to do and do it. It is in that instant, in that moment full of promise that your soul becomes one . In that precise moment, you are.
