My Philosophy As You Sow, So You Reap

Whatever you sow by your actions come back to you. If you make others happy through service, charity and kind acts, you sow happiness like a seed; and it will give you the fruit of happiness. If you make others unhappy through harsh words, insult, ill-treatment, cruel acts, oppression, etc., you sow unhappiness like a seed; and it will give you the fruit of pain, suffering, misery and unhappiness.
What Gives Me Hope Seeing the world through the eyes of my children. An innate & unwavering faith in kindness, empathy, & understanding.
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
What/who changed my life and why When I was very young I had dreams of ending hunger & homelessness and achieving world peace. But as I got older that dream faded and was replaced by the American dream of a family, a car, children etc. Priorities Shifted.

Then in January 2009, I lost my older sister Tammy to an accidental multi-prescription drug overdose. And from somewhere deep inside I heard the ear piercing scream of a little girl yell "It's not fair!" And a tide of emotion came flooding out of me so strongly that I wasn't sure I could survive it. . . .
I felt:
* an anger and feeling of injustice that would put you in the running for tantrum of the decade * the rebelliousness of age 7 that says "YOU CANT MAKE ME SHUT UP" * the vulnerability that believes a mothers kiss makes a boo boo better * the compassion given to all living things, rolie-polies included * And I felt alive.

I made a resolution to myself that minute that I would not let my sisters death be in vain. Her death would make way for a legacy of hope and healing. A legacy of change. I would do whatever it took to protect "sisters" from the deadly epidemic of prescription addiction.
And Project My Sisters Keeper was born.

Hi Crystal,I am so sorry to hear about your sister.I watched some of the video on perscription drugs and I see it every day and I live in a small town in British Columbia Canada.I am on methadone and have been for 15 years now but during the last 8 months I have been going down on my dose.Even if it takes 2 years I will get myself off of it.Will keep in touch,Karen L
