Through Opened Eyes (The Activist)

Through opened eyes we clearly see
and answer the animal's plea
We must see what others ignore
so we alone must unlock secrecy's door

We look inside the anguished eyes
and we have the burden to be wise
When others cover their ears
we are the ones to fight the tears

All of our strength it takes
to endure when our heart aches
When the images etch our mind
its justice we struggle to find

The screams mark our soul
to end the agony our common goal
Silencing the wails cannot wait
in our hands we hold their fate

If only others would lend their voice
and for the helpless makes the choice
With each action we destroy or defend
on each decision so many lives depend




In a world so full of disgard and indifference, there are those people  who stand up against the odds to protect those weaker then themselves. With their voice, they have given word to those who cannot speak.  With their actions, they have paved the rocky road for generations to come. With will and strength they have changed the lives of so many. And with all their courage they fight this fight relentless in the hopes of opening just one blind eye. They risk the countless sneers to the right the wrongs. And these people, through their mercy and sacrifices deserve our respect and thanks. They are the animal's voice, support, strength, lifeline and only hope.  You know who you are and you do make a difference...never give up.

If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by All animals would be given the right to live a life that is within their best interest (ie, let pigs walk and sun themselves and chickens spread their wings, etc.).
