About Me Since 1967, CBF has been the voice of those who care about restoring North America’s largest estuary. Our motto “Save the Bay” has defined that mission to the more than 17 million people who live in the six-state Chesapeake Bay Watershed. CBF is the largest and only independent, Bay-wide organization that exists solely to restore and protect the vitality of the Bay.

Wild Fact About Me The Chesapeake Bay Foundation has the largest environmental education program in the United States.
My Philosophy The health of the Chesapeake Bay is dangerously out of balance. If we are to significantly reduce pollution, remove the Bay from the nation's "dirty waters" list, and restore our national treasure, it is time for urgent action; time to hold our government leaders accountable to get the job done.
What Gives Me Hope legislators who support funding to reduce pollution and to help Bay state farmers reduce agricultural runoff, 17 million people supporting better environmental education for students, Pennsylvania's landmark Resource Enhancement & Protection Act (REAP), volunteers who helped grow and plant 7 million oysters and several thousand native trees and shrubs, great volunteers, great members...YOU!
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
What/who changed my life and why Rachel Carson, author of "Silent Spring." To generations of environmental advocates, her timeless contribution is her example, the brave act of speaking out for her most treasured beliefs. Her legacy endures in the form of the Environmental Protection Agency, established in 1970, and in the cries of ospreys and eagles across the Chesapeake Bay and its waterways.
What Bugs Me dead zones, too-narrow interpretation of 'standing', legislators who don't act, struggling crabs, disappearing oysters, dead fish
Passions photography, making a difference, environmental education, restoring our environment, conservation, fish, crabs, oysters, water, environment, nature, clean water
Inspirations the beauty of nature, our children, the future, passionate doers, passionate people, healthy oyster reefs, catching sight of a sturgeon, the cry of an osprey or eagle
What Scares Me loss of habitats and natural resources, sprawl, ignorance and indifferance, climate change, global warming, pollution
