Since 1967, CBF has been the voice of those who care about restoring North America’s largest estuary. Our motto “Save the Bay” has defined that mission to the more than 17 million people who live in the six-state Chesapeake Bay Watershed. CBF is the largest and only independent, Bay-wide organization that exists solely to restore and protect the vitality of the Bay.
The Chesapeake Bay Foundation has the largest environmental education program in the United States.

What Gives Me Hope
legislators who support funding to reduce pollution and to help Bay state farmers reduce agricultural runoff, 17 million people supporting better environmental education for students, Pennsylvania's landmark Resource Enhancement & Protection Act (REAP), volunteers who helped grow and plant 7 million oysters and several thousand native trees and shrubs, great volunteers, great members...YOU!
