What Gives Me Hope	The morning sun, a warm smile from a stranger, little babies, a really good song.
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by	Like the old saying goes, "Don't put the cart before the horse." I would deal with environmental issues no matter what the cost or consequences. Without a healthy planet there would BE no government, people, life, or future for that matter ..just a rock in space. To me, this must precede all other things. On a personal note and a rather far fetched fantasy, I believe that we as a human race would achieve so much more if we worked together instead of seperating ourselves by countries and borders. If we could have one government(for the sake of order) comprised of worldwide elected people with the capacity of both intelligence AND compassion, imagine the possibilities! We are living in an age where I can send this very message to someone in China in less than a few seconds. There is no need for us to remain distant from each other any longer. This planet and it's resources are here for all of us. I find it disturbing that a people can claim a piece of the earth just because by chance they happened to be born on that part of it or have the power to "take control" of it. In my opinion, it is all an illusion. This planet was here long before we were and probably will be very long after we are gone. My point is this; Our nations are so involved in fighting over "who get's what" and "who's right or who's wrong" that the big picture is being overlooked. Our parents taught us to share as children because sharing makes everyone happy. We have no choice but to share our planet because there is only one of it. I truly believe that it is universal to want happiness and comfort in life. Every one of us COULD have happiness and comfort if we could only learn to share. If we could learn to accept our cultural and religious differences and just "agree to disagree", than maybe we actually could concentrate on the more important issues at hand ..saving the life of our planet and creating a beautiful world for our children and all life on earth!
