I used to think I was liberal, but I guess that I'm actually a libertarian (it pays to read the definitions that come with polital labels). However, I think most Libertarian politicans are nuts, so I really don't know what I am. Intelligent, nature lover, decent cook, protecter of spiders, scorpions, and other unloved arachnids.
I wear size 14 shoes with a 4E width. Kind of cool except when you need to buy new shoes. Size 14 tends to be a bit elusive around here.

What Gives Me Hope
Increases in the popularity of organic food. Increases in the use of alternative energy. A worldwide growing realization that we are approaching an environmental threshold from which it may be impossible to return.
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
cap the salaries of CEOs at 10X the salary of their lowest paid employee followed closely by outlawing any car or SUV that gets below 30 mpg and possibly creating a "jerk tax" for all Hummer owners.
What/who changed my life and why
House fire - May 1993. Everything my family owned went up in flames. We lived in a tiny travel trailor for eight months while we tore down the old house and built a new one. Needless to say, we are closer now.
