I'm always glad to meet other interesting, involved people. I especially want to meet folks who are thriving outside of the usual Rat Race. I bicycle most everywhere, and have never owned a car.
1) All people have the right to freely determine what beliefs are meaningful to them.
2) All people deserve respect, regardless of their particular beliefs and choices.
3) All people are doing the best they can, with respect to their values and their particular situations.
4) Clarity about how to live, inspiration, and refreshment can come from quiet, relaxed reflection - both while alone and as part of a group.
5) Evil is not a force in itself, but rather a tendency towards harmful actions whenever people feel tense and squeezed by what they regard as limited time, scarce resources, and a lack of needed information.
6) All people are inherently connected and each manifests an important part of reality (truth). No one has more of a right to be alive than another. We can grow in wisdom to the extent that we include more people relaxedly in our lives.
7) Humanity does not deserve to be alive more than any other form of life.
8) Putting attention on appreciation and positive things results in the greatest good (least harm) and the most satisfaction.
9) No one has a right to exclusively retain resources that are needed to provide basic nutrition, clothing, shelter, health care, and education for anyone else.
10) Every moment is a fresh occasion to reconsider, and perhaps to re-define and decide anew, who we are and where we are going.
What Gives Me Hope
We haven't blown ourselves up yet (or the rest of the world!).
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
helping to arrange forums for everyday people to practice taking turns listening to each other better.

"WORK THAT MEETS REAL HUMAN NEEDS will attract the support it requires as long as it is done well, there is good communication with friends and supporters about one's progress, contacts are broad and continually expanded, needs are made clear along the way, and the tone of the work is relaxed."
