Em was told by the US Embassy that sexual assaults are rarely prosecuted in the Bahamas, this has been going on for over 40 years, and possibly forever. Our govt. knows this fact and stated it - yet lets criminal cases be done there, when they could easily be investigated here, as with my story these men do not come from the Bahamas and are from a place closer in distance to me. The govt. of the Bahamas sells online vacation packages to millions of people on the www.bahamas.com website, this is a govt. marketing and sales website and they own a % of the rooms/sales. I bought my package on that website and found out later that the men that hurt us were let in by the Bahamas govt and let to live in numerous hotels and they had not done any immigration checks. These hotels then let these workers in without registering them as individuals. Thousands and thousands of them. No checks done, thousands of them there, living in hotels with us tourists, previous crimes happen, they still do not care - it is all about money and how fast they can profit. Please be careful, you never know what you will walk into.
