Unashamedly happy in the face of reality. Blessed beyond measure with a fabulous husband and beautiful, happy, healthy family. Wildly diverse background I see all coming together around health and the environment. Never could have created this life without divine intervention. Afraid not to be involved politically - they keep messing it up.
Doesn't seem wild to me - but I have a wildly bright and colorful mixed family which some consider unusual for a Missouri Bible-belt area. It's been a completely wonderful experience - and only wild because some of my white suburban childhood peers think I 'limited' my life and the wonderful irony is my life is bigger and wider than theirs will ever be.
My Philosophy
The vast majority of people are good and groups will make the right decisions for thmselves given the time, tools and resources.
What Gives Me Hope
100th monkey effect on green - can't turn on tv or pick up print without seeing something on environmental issues, especially corporations going green - means they know consumers are demanding it. That gives me hope. It's also becoming an organic part of the fabric of life - not a short term media blitz.
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
Tough - I'd have to choose children first - even over environment. I'd reallocate health and human service funds to prevention of disease vs. treatment. Health care community already knows how to do it - they just never have the money.
What/who changed my life and why
Billy Jack - first time I realized we weren't always the good guys - I was about 12 - really woke me up.
