I love to make new friends and to Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Kayak!!! ...and ok so I don't really speak Portugese fluently YET, but would like to learn! Forca!

I would like to live up to my name Hashimoto..."Hashi" means "Bridge" in Japanese, so I'd like to be a bridge for peace- based on my travels across the US, to Canada, Costa Rica, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Brazil! I would like to be a person that people remember cause I'm going to SAVE THE WORLD!

I was once a depressed young girl, suicidal with the thought that humans were destroying the earth everywhere I turned. I didn't know why I had to be cursed with being human...Now, I realize that I can make a difference in my ACTION as a human being, to live true to the teachings of Buddhism- "Winter never fails to turn into SPRING!" If I can realize my unlimited potential as a human, I could actually make my life worth living for! :) Of course, I've completely changed my attitude since those pre-teen days. When I realized that my happiness is my responsibility, no one else could live my life. I have been learning about the the Earth, with my career and from the people I come across, who are focused on protecting the very thing I love! I am filled with a sense of purpose and passion!

I'm currently at Pelican Island Refuge getting in the news with our restoration and volunteer projects. We're also preparing for the Pelican Island Wildlife Festival in March as well! I'm not going to be here for that, unfortunately...

If you've talked to me at all, you probably know that my boyfriend lives in Fort Myers now, and I'm going to move over there in February. I REALLY hate to leave here, cause I really do love the people and the beautiful Sebastian River and Indian River Lagoon. And Fortunately for him, love makes us do crazy things and I'm running to South West Florida....

I am excited though, cause I'm going to INDIA to see Wild Tigers! I'd like to start some kind of program to help Clemson University start contributing to protecting Tigers in the wild...so let's see what this little alumni can come up with. We'll be meeting with The Tiger Trust Director, so perhaps I'll be able to donate something to them! http://www.tigertrustindia.com/

I'll keep this website updated for you! Check "My Shares" column. I'll also be looking at the historic Buddhist sites of India, learning more about Indian cuisine, culture, and history. This will be another bridge constructed with a strong peaceful path for my life!

So when I get back from India, I'll be earning my keep at Florida Panther Refuge and 10,000 Islands Refuge as the assistant manager! I really do look forward to the hot, humid climate that is found in South Florida!!!
