As we look around the state its easy to get frustrated by decisionmakers' choices to fund projects that seem to just create more traffic jams and add more pollutants to our air. We need to be smarter and use our limited transportation resources to reduce congestion and address global warming. The good news is that a bill currently up for a vote in the state legislature -- HB 1312 -- helps do just that! The even better news is that we have an opportunity to influence the passage of this bill.
We have set up an online tool to make e-mailing your State Representative quick and easy! Just follow the link below and ask the House Transportation and Energy Committee to support HB 1312 when it is considered in committee Thursday morning. And don't forget that adding your own personal experiences or comments when sending your letter makes it much more effective!
There's a lot more information available on this bill if you follow the link above. Finally, if you have a chance when you are finished - please take a moment to use our Care2 page to post your thoughts on this issue - its a great way to keep in touch with other conservation-minded citizens!
Peace and Thanks, Kate

I am a law student interning at the Colorado Environmental Coalition in Denver. I want to sue the heck out of big polluters (oil/gas, factory farms, and coal and nuclear) who flout environmental laws.
