I am me, and I'm ok with that.. even if other people aren't... lol! I'm a Sagittarian, and so, am blatently honest. I also have the Sagittarian characteristic frequent foot in mouth problem... hee hee
I care about things, sometimes too much. I like the earth, I like the animals and plants on it. I like clear blue skies. I respect nature. Humans disappoint me a lot, and there is way too much cruelty and disregard toward fellow humans, animals, and well, gees, the whole earth for that matter. I've grown rather tired of that, and so am determined to at least create and maintain my own personal sanctuary for myself and my family and our pets. I'd like to change the world, I'd like to make a difference. I'd like to see democracy upheld for and by the people, the way it was originally intended. Well, so much for pipe dreams.... Hopefully my signatures on petitions will at least mean something.
So I live in my own quiet corner of the world where I like to write, do handcrafts (when I have time), do a little artwork, drink coffee and eat chocolate, read, and whatever else I am motivated to do at the moment. I collect rocks, minerals, and crystals, unicorns, fairies and dragons. I like the mystical and the mythical. Course no matter how much I put down here, you still will not really know me.
Be yourself, be honest to yourself, and honest to other people, harm no one, and live your life the way you want to, not the way other people expect you to - it's the only way you'll ever be happy.
What Gives Me Hope
Running into a genuinely nice person, even if it's only for a moment, makes you think there's still hope for humanity after all... :)
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
Revamp the government back to the democracy it was originally meant to be, where people mean more than money and big business.
What/who changed my life and why
Siddhartha probably was the earliest influence to change my life, with Jonathan Livingston Seagull being a close second.
"The truly creative mind in any field is no more than this: A human creature born abnormally, inhumanly sensitive.
To him...
a touch is a blow,
a sound is a noise,
a misfortune is a tragedy,
a joy is an ecstasy,
a friend is a lover,
a lover is a god,
and failure is death.
Add to this cruelly delicate organism the overpowering necessity to create, create, create - - - so that without the creating of music or poetry or books or buildings or something of meaning, his very breath is cut off from him. He must create, must pour out creation. By some strange, unknown, inward urgency he is not really alive unless he is creating."
