A journalist asked me this question and I wanted to share my answer.
Q: What do you consider your first "break" as a writer?

A. I knew someone very close and dear to me who knows Ted Kotcheff, the executive producer of NBC's Law & Order Special Victims Unit and a highly established Hollywood film director.

Kotcheff had directed films, the Tiara Tahiti (1962) and Two Men Sharing (1969). After Wake In Fright, Kotcheff would continue to have a successful career as a director. His later films included The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz (1973), as well as the football comedy “North Dallas Forty” (1979), which he also co-wrote, Fun with Dick and Jane (1977), First Blood (1982), and Weekend at Bernie’s (1988).

I asked to arrange a meeting. Kotcheff was curious enough to meet for breakfast and hear what was on my mind. I told him I wanted to write for television and film but also interested to learn the ropes in the art of filmmaking. I specifically wanted to learn from someone from old Hollywood than from the point of view of a new independent director and producer of today.

Kotcheff asked me one question about Sylvester Stallone, who is considered my favorite actor and writer. He said, "What do you find so talented about Mr. Stallone?" I said, "Stallone has the ability to know the audience and has been very successful doing so." He said, "Antonio you are absolutely correct! Not only is Stallone an amazing actor but he is gifted with many other talents."

Kotcheff said, "You're an actor." I said, "But I know how to tell a story." This was the right answer, but it took another few months of meeting, emailing, pitching, for him to finally relent. For the past eight years I was mentor by him and he helped me to develop my own unique vision, while also learning how to manage a television budget and productions of a high rated network show. I'm forever grateful.

Wild Fact About Me
My Philosophy To connect the world with a Green movement by building a bridge between filmmakers and people everywhere to unite them globally into a strong world of sustainability.
What Gives Me Hope My greatest treasure is having mentors.
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by Steps to a Better and Clean World can start by remembering this famous quote, In 1963, John Kennedy said,

Our problems are man-made, therefore they may be solved by man.

Positive Energy for Positive Change.
What/who changed my life and why In the case of Al Gore's 2006 documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, about the nature of global warming which was the catalyst to cause a domino effect. Energy conservation was the name of the game. At that time, I was riding that same wave as an energy consultant to corporate giant companies for many years. Implementing energy conservation in the US was difficult because many Americans are not accustomed to conserving. In fact, some Americans are resistant to being energy efficient.

The world is bursting with artistic influences waiting for a green vehicle; waiting with creative vision for a moment of recognition. My goal is to bring a new "Green Light" to filmmaking.

Past heroes such as The Duke, Lone Ranger and Superman were extraordinary people which gave us great expectations to dream big and aspire towards the betterment of the nation. Not only did we enjoy our Hollywood heroes, we admired them and were inspired by them.

My mission is to bring back Old Hollywood. Instead of remaking classics.... why not make the classics of tomorrow. The next Star Wars, the next JAWS, the next King Kong, the next Star Trek, etc. Audiences want and need new and fresh films that bring them the power of imagination. Together, we can make great films and be green. These films do not necessarily have to be about the green movement as they would be diversified genres that we anticipate to be entertaining and shot beautifully.

With the help of future filmmakers, we can change the old techniques of filmmaking by creating films that are ecologically conscious without compromising the quality of the films we make. We are committed and dedicated to discovering filmmakers that will combine their talents and creative vision by "Thinking and Going Green". Not only will this be environmentally and socially beneficial, we can make a tremendous impact in our economy.

Planet Greenfest has combined it's knowledge of the energy business with the entertainment industry with the hope of contributing to a more sustainable world.

Learn, Listen, Feel, Responsibility, Understanding, Encourage, Follow and together we will change the world.
