With all humor, fun and contradictions aside, I take this site and everything it means and stands for very serious. Although, sometimes it's not possible for me, I do try to click & sign worthy petitions everyday to help do my part. Helping animals is not a hobby for me, rather it's my life! ________________________________________________________________________
My dad taught me drums (percussion) around age four, he also knew music, I went on through high school and did more, reluctantly at first. I rebelled and was against that for some time until my inner sense reminded me that it might be a cool thing...
For all my friends having Birthdays: Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you!
Sorry about the b-days I've missed I'm trying to do better with that
ALONG OTHER LINES.......skip intro:
in the 80's, a newer talent in music surfaced except for the obnoxious and untalented hair bands ie; bon jovi, cinderella, rat, skid row and the like that some how gained popularity then and why i don't know except maybe that the one's listening to it were children of people who fried their brains on the extreme drugs available to them in the 1960's. that music and those bands @%#!!! (censored) and where are they now? the bottom of the music archives. most could barely tolerate van halen then and now. kiss comes in a close second to vh, even though i did see them live (kiss), they were like a circus on stage and not the slightest entertaining (they lost their costumes, and what an impression they made.. no make-up, no fire breathing?...come on gene, what happened to your friggin ego? (I called out for more clowns) kiss was said to be the hardest and heavier metal band? did I miss something?!? They're much like the surviving members of the who, that need wheel chairs to get to the mic. get real! in their prime, i'll admit that they were some tastier than van morrison... "this is my attitude, take it or leave it" <(quoting gene). i'm not knocking the talented van morrison.
the coming of the 90's was a virtual breakthough for artist's and their music then. bands such as sound garden and nirvana were being formed, along with pearl jam, temple of the dog and more... well, you were there, you know. they were from seattle (USA!:) we heard them everywhere, even across all the ocean's. a new sound was born, called alternative and it became a scene bigger than the haight ashbury thing in the 60's. no one could imagine the impact that it created. it lives on today. no british band or any other foreign band could compete, many have tried and all have failed. stand proud USA rockers!
no band could replace the beatles now, however, neither could they survive today. john lennon said it best then, "our music as a group took us as far as we could journey together, therefore, i am leaving the beatles, much like a divorce"...his true motive left unsaid. being a lennon fan, i cherish his work, music and meaning to life and his yearning for world peace. true life only exists without cruelity to animals and people, therefore the result is true peace, true peace is what I live for. i love our planet and all creatures existing here. let's all love one another. and a word.. peace everyone! we all know what to about it.
"When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace. " -Jimi Hendrix
Although I fancy less than 2% of Paul Hewson's music, inevitably I kneel to this man and my hat's off to him for his humanitarian work for the less fortunate in south africa. he does put his money where his mouth is by donating $ millions $ and also raising muti millions for charity purposes for them and is not just talk like so many other celebrity activist's are. though he's not the first to use celebrity status to gain attention, he's in it for the long run, unlike the springsteen bunch and little steven from the 80's, that once they're out of the celebrity spotlight and fame and have their tour money in pocket from promoting "END APARTHEID in south africa", their so called love for the people there suspiciously fades, hmmmm.... interesting. Humanitarian interest lasts a lifetime, not spanding the length of your career while profiting from it. quoting springsteen.."i won't play sun city". funny he's frequented that area with parties, drinking and soliciting girls. *laugh* what a hypocrite. you gotta luv that irish guy, hewson. ( i get a lot of email asking who is hewson? he's U2's Bono, folks! :)
*notice how i put all that down for ya in small type letters, not big and bold like many do? you see, my page loads up faster for ya this way, like you're not bored already having to read through a profile that's a kilometer long* ~zen~

What/who changed my life and why
no one's had a greater impact on my life than my animals and pets that I've had thoughout my life. having raised so many and sadly/ obviously most aren't with me today. I miss every single one of them. I am fortunate that my parents has property, so I was able to bury my loved ones in a sacred area and am able to visit the pets I've had more than 20 years ago. that's a blessing all it's own, to be close to all of them even now.
