Date to Remember - 17/07/1994: End of the Rwandan Genocide
In 100 days in 1994 approximately one million Tutsis, and moderate Hutus were murdered in the Rwandan genocide. On 6 April 1994 the plane carrying Rwanda’s President was shot down. Tutsis were accused of killing the President, and Hutu civilians were told by radio and word of mouth, that it was their duty to wipe out the Tutsis. First moderate Hutus who weren’t anti-Tutsi should be killed. So should Tutsi wives or husbands. Although on a large scale, this genocide was carried out entirely by hand, often using machetes and clubs. The men who’d been trained to massacre were members of civilian death squads, the Interahamwe. The State provided supporting organisation – politicians, officials, intellectuals and professional soldiers incited the killers to do their work. Local officials assisted in rounding up victims and making suitable places available for slaughter.
Tutsi men, women, children and babies were killed in thousands in schools and churches. The victims, in their last moments alive, were also faced by another appalling fact, their cold-blooded killers were people they knew – neighbours, work-mates, former friends, sometimes even relatives through marriage.

The Egyptian/Pharaonic Goddess of Justice
"I am the law of truth, the path of integrity, custodian of the book of law, in my heart lives justice. I weigh all my deeds against my feather of truth, and if it is heavier, I will give a lecture: I create possibilities, I clear the path.... Mercifully I grant what needs to be learnt in order to transform all injustice to justice."
Quote of Maat, the Egyptian/Pharaonic Goddess of Justice.
What’s the most confusing day for a racist? Fathers Day!
What does a racist and a sperm cell have in common? Only one in a million work!
How many Nazis does it take to change a light bulb? 100. 1 to change the bulb and 99 to deny it!
What do you call a racist with a high IQ? A Cheat!
"Much unlike a mortal
who hurts the ones they love
A dragon's love is forever
and as pure as a peaceful dove."
Chinese Symbol for Dragon
Seen not by our eyes but they are true,
they watch over us whatever we do.
Coming from times of anchent lore,
and then even long, long before.
We see threw the dragons eyes,
telling between truth and lies.
We listen when our mind is clear,
a dragons call we can hear.
They are guardians of the moon and night,
they protect us when we perform our rights.
We use their power with great care,
we have found the dragons lair.
We sleep with the dragons,
in the hidden lair.
We sing their call,
in our every prayer.
Threw our eyes,
their world is clear.
Their forgotten song,
our heart can hear.
They guide our way,
threw the darkest night.
We use their wisdom,
to give us sight.
Threw our voice,
you hear their cries.
Their fire can be seen,
deep in our eyes.
They are alive,
deep in our minds.
In us the dragons you can find.

by Edain McCoy
From Beltaine to Midsummer, the faery kingdom celebrates the newborn spring. Throughout the centuries, Europeans made note of which vernal foliage was attractive to the wee folk and, by contrast, which plants would offer protection.
Those plants marked with an asterisk (*) are poisonous and should be cultivated only with great caution, and should never be grown wherever children or pets are present.
Bluebell --- If bluebells ring in your garden, an evil faery is near.
Carnation --- The red ones draw faeries who enjoy healing animals.
Clover --- Wildly attractive to faery life.
Cowslip --- The best choice for attracting faeries to your yard.
Dandelion --- Believed to be used by faeries to make beverages.
Dill --- The fresh plant has a scent faeries dislike.
Foxglove* --- A favorite of earth elementals.
Hawthorne --- Sacred to faeries, as well as to May Queen.
Heliotrope* --- Enjoyed by fire elementals.
Gorse --- Repels virtually all faery life.
Hollyhock* --- A faery favorite, particularly the pink variety.
Lilac --- The gentle scent draws faery life.
Lobelia* --- Will help attract winged faeries.
Mistletoe* --- Can also attract unpleasant tree faeries.
Morning Glory* --- Repels unwanted night faeries
Mushrooms* --- Often used by faeries to mark the boundaries of their sacred circles or portals to their world.
Pansy --- Known to attract parades of trooping faeries.
Primrose --- Believed to give faeries their power of invisibility.
Rosemary --- The fresh plant protects from baneful faeries.
Sassafras --- Enjoyed by air elementals.
Shamrock --- A form of clover Celtic faeries adore.

The Dragon person is self confident and impulsive and consequently does not always listen to the advice of others. He is also a perfectionist and he sets high standards for himself. Although strong and decisive the Dragon is not manipulative or sly. He refuses to deceive or compromise and fails to spot subversive intent. He enjoys being in command and like an emperor holding court he eliminates obstacles until success is his.
WOOD DRAGON: The Wood Dragon is creative, imaginative, and inquisitive. He is both a thinker and a doer and is capable of brilliant new concepts. His every move is guided by sound logic. His drive and ambition allow him to put many of his ideas into practice, nevertheless this Dragon is capable of concealing his domination and tries not to offend. He will even compromise if it is advantages. Although not as self-centered as other Dragons, he is still outspoken and fearless when challenged.

And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years.
"The Buddha teaches this triple truth to all: A generous heart, kind speech, and a life of service and compassion are the things which renew humanity."
There are as many nights as days, and the one is just as long as the other in the year's course. Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word 'happy' would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness.
"This is the nature of genius, to be able to grasp the knowable even when no one else recognizes that it is present."
"Me only have one ambition, y'know. I only have one thing I really like to see happen. I like to see mankind live together - black, white, Chinese, everyone - that's all." -
-- Bob Marley
