Hey Trumpettes & supporters, please pay attention!
I just read a summary of Donald Trump's proposed budget, and even you may realize it's crazy.
He calls it a skinny budget, and mostly it is. The budget items he intends to increase are very few. He still plans to increase the worlds highest military budget by $54 billion dollars as well as boosting the bucks for immigration enforcement. He won't ask for cuts in the FBI.
He is also putting aside funds for his wall this year (1.5 billion) and next (2.6 billion), finally acknowledging that we, not Mexico, will be footing that bill.
Beyond that, the things he intends to use to slash the overall budget are a little distressing. He plans to cut the State Dept. by 31%, the EPA by 31%, eliminate the National Endowment for the Arts completely, ELIMINATE the Community Grant for Block Development, which funds MEALS ON WHEELS, offers housing assistance and aids the poor.
Low income heating assistance and legal aid for the poor are also targeted.
He plans to "significantly reduce" funds for public schools, Food for Peace (which sends food to countries enduring natural disasters), transportation programs, monies for HUD, and most other non-defense federal jobs in the interest of "dismantling the administrative state" according to Steve Bannon.
He is also CUTTING FUNDS TO HELP HOMELESS VETERANS, while at the same time asking for money to reopen a nuclear waste dump in Nevada (which Nevadans hate).
I didn't see any of the cuts he mentioned he would use to pay for the military increase with funds from the Coast Guard and TSA, so maybe somebody alerted him to the lunacy of cutting two legitimate border defenses to pay for another.
I haven't even mentioned cuts to medical research and NOAA (probably included in the EPA cut).
Wasn't he going to pledge $1 trillion to infrastructure? Improve the inner cities? Take care of the veterans? Read where all the cuts are coming and try to match that with those promises.
And he chalks it all up to safety for the country producing prosperity.
Does all that sound like a champion of the common man? Especially when you combine it with his upcoming "simplified" tax plan? You know, the one with the biggest tax cuts for the wealthiest people. What is it going to take before you realize what's going on?
Face it folks. You've been had. [by Rick Roberts ]
