My Page Billboard
Hi! For those 'just browsing' and who have found my page, this is me:
* I do watercolor. I love making my own cards. It's fun, addicting, and puts me back into a zone where I feel a kid again. :-D
* I love travel: travel is one of the best ways I know of to learn a culture, from the inside out. And trying to speak even a few words of that country's language is a tribute to that country, and a growing exercise for each person.
* Books! Music(especially folk and Celtic!)! Singing! LOVE these. I'm a big SF/fantasy fan, and collect books and CDs. Music puts a person inside the Universe: becoming one with the notes expands the soul. Listen; hear; go deeply into it--it will awaken deep parts of you you never thought you had.

a bit of sign language,
||Here I am, a passionate Celtophile, lover of books, Celtic music, travel, learning new things, and the hope I have for a better world for every living thing.
I love people, love learning about other cultures, and find life a fascinating journey as time passes.
There is so much yet to find out...I think it will go on even when I pass on--!

|What Gives Me Hope
||The toothless smile of an infant, the tenderness of a child, hugs...and my sister's and my dog, looking up at me affectionately, with trust.

|What/who changed my life and why
||I can't say any one person/event/movie changed my life. There are several who definitely have affected it:
Jacques Cousteau, Mother Teresa, Malala Yousufzai, the Dalai Lama, children who do good and are honored for it in the news are my heroes.
The film "City of God," about the Untouchables in India, the film "Love Actually," and "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" film with Dev Patel.
A book by Victor Hugo: "The Hunchback of Notre Dame," touched me deeply. Several of Dickens' books definitely affected me. Maeve Binchy, Tamora Pierce, Alan Dean Foster, S. M. Stirling, Doranna Durgin, and other authors have definitely affected my life.
My teachers from high school, Mrs. Thayer Puckett(Latin) and Mrs. Ruth Gulledge(English), affected me a great deal: I loved both.
In truth, though, every day, a person, an event, a book, an article will change my life. I think this is part of growing--to let yourself open up to the wisdom and compassion you see and hear from others.
