I am an advocate for participatory democracy, human rights and social justice. I believe that all people, all citizens of Earth, exist as a part of nature. All human values, therefore, including all religious, ethical and sociopolitical beliefs, are rooted in human nature, human experience and human culture, not in supernaturalism, mysticism, or in ideological abstractions.
I am a humanist and I do not believe in an invisible man who lives in the sky.
What Gives Me Hope
The prospect of a rational world where decisions are made by consensus for the common good.
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
Food, housing, health care and education would be human rights. I would sign the Kyoto Protocol on behalf of the U.S. I would mandate the re-production of all-electric cars like the EV1, the Toyota RAV4 and the Ford Ranger.
What/who changed my life and why
I read Fidel Castro's 1979 speech to the UN General Assembly and was so impressed that this speech became the foundation for my world view.
