Since joining this website, I feel like I have finally found my place in the world.
This site represents so many things that I stand for that I actually feel like this is "home" now.
I only hope everyone else gets this same feeling and enjoyment from this site.

PLEASE HELP SAVE THIS ENDANGERED SPECIES!!
The VARANUS BITATAWA Monitor Lizard is a Frugivorious Monitor! Or "FRUITATARIAN" Monitor Lizard! And is being hunted into extinction in the Sierra Madre Mountain Range of the Philippines!
This is a RARE species and is not known to be Native to any other area!
The area "Luzon Island" is becoming extremely over populated by the Aeta and Ilongot , indigenous people of the Philippines who call the Varanus Bitatawa "Butikaw" and have decimated it's habitat and hunted this poor creature into near extinction for food.
This creature is now known to be "Critically Endangered".

What can we do to protect this species?
We can create breeding programs to help repopulate the lizard, we can donate funds toward paying the Filipinos to keep them alive, we can organize educational groups to teach the Filipino people the importance of this rare creature which was only even discovered to exist only a few short years ago!
Please, do whatever you can to save this poor creature!
One step in the right direction is even spreading the word. Every bit of help counts towards saving the existence of this beautiful innocent fellow non meat eating friend.
