Dear viewers,

As you might already know, the situation in Darfur, Sudan is not getting any better.
Genocide is not to be tolerated and so, by signing this petition, you are urging leaders in helping resolve or, at least, stabilize this problem.

Please, find it in your hearts to help others, sign the SAVE DARFUR petition:

http://www.democracyinaction.org/dia/organizationsORG/darfur/campaign.jsp?campaign_KEY=5175

[Thank you to all those who have signed the petition, it has helped bring awareness to a lot of leaders. It's a small, but sure step in the path for the Darfur genocide abolishment. On January 10th, New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson get commitment for cease-fire and improved humanitarian aid and media access to darfur.]

- This war has been going on since 2003

- It is between the Arab Sudanese (backed by the Sudanese president, Omar Al-Bashir, Sudanese government and its militia called the Janjaweed) and the African Sudanese (Sudanese Liberation Movement, Justice & Equality Movement and its civilians). It's not about religion, it's about ethnicity.

- Cause: The stated political aim of the rebels SLM and JEM has been to compel the
government of Sudan to address underdevelopment and the political
marginalization of the region.

- Estimated 400,000 killed since Feb. 2003

- Estimated 2.5 million displaced since Feb. 2003

- Estimated 3,200 villages destroyed since Feb. 2003

- Not since the Rwandan genocide of 1994 has the world seen such a calculated campaign of displacement, starvation, rape and mass
slaughter
.

- Approximately 10,000 people die every month.

Thank you. :-)

P.S: Please do share this and don't be afraid to post on your own homepage. :-)

- I hope this informational video about the conflict in Darfur will inspire you to spread the awareness.

About Me Let's start off with my life story:
I was born in Bosnia and lived there until I was about 6.
Then my family and I moved off to the United Arab Emirates where I have been schooled.
Now I'm in Canada attempting to overtake the world. :-P

Now as for me:
I'm a very strange person. At times I'm happy-go-lucky, funny, clumsy, energetic and caring, and at other times, I'm aggressive, sarcastic, straight-forward, stubborn. You can say I got a bit of everything in me, sometimes to the point of being a walking contradiction.
I'm on the constant search for knowledge and for that, I love to travel but have had few opportunities as of yet.
My life revolves around aiding animals and people.

P.S: I LOVE Pit Bulls/AmStaffs!

Quotation - The stranger who tells our stories when we cannot speak, not only awakens our spirits and hearts but also shows our humanity - which others want to forget - and in doing so, becomes family. - Mende Proverb (tribe in Sierra Leone)

- A spoon does not know the taste of soup, nor a learned fool the taste of wisdom.

- I am a survivor of a concentration camp. My eyes saw what no man should witness: Gas chambers built by learned engineers, children poisoned by educated physicians, infants killed by trained nurses, women and babies shot and buried by High School and College Graduates. So I am suspicious of education.
My request is: Help your students to become human. Your efforts must never produce learned monsters, skilled psychopaths, educated Eichmanns. Reading, writing, and arithmetic are important only if they serve to make our children human. - Chaim Ginott, 1972

- To laugh often and much, to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children, to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends, to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch... to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have SUCCEEDED! - Ralph Waldo Emerson

"Being a woman created by God is such a privilege- and the gift of your femininity is something you can give both to yourself and to the people around you. Just one flower, one candle, can warm up a cold, no-nonsense atmosphere with an aura of ‘I care.' Women have always had the ability to transform an environment, to make it comfortable and inviting. I believe you should rejoice in that ability and make the most of it... The spirit of femininity is so many things... It is people accepted and nurtured, loveliness embraced and shared. More important, the spirit of femininity is the spirit of care and compassion. In my mind, the most feminine woman is one with an eye and ear for others, and a heart for God."
