I am walking to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and to celebrate my 5 year anniversary for my Bone Marrow Transplant!
In March 2001, I was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia, underwent chemotherapy, suffered from necrotizing facititis (a flesh eating disease found in hospitals) that the doctors wrote it was a miracle I survived. I could not go through follow up chemotherapy because of a wound where they removed the necrotizing facititis so had a bone marrow transplant from an unrelated donor. It will be five years since my transplant (and cancer free!) on September 7, 2006! If it was not for my angel, a man who just happened to donate his bone marrow, I would not have survived.
Please, Please, if you can, donate your bone marrow or donate blood and platelets. Without blood, platelets, research, and family, friends, love, faith, and humor, I would not be alive today! Please pray for all those with cancer and fight against environmental pollutants.
Please also support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I will be doing their Light the Night Walk in September to CELEBRATE MY 5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY FOR MY BONE MARROW TRANSPLANT!!
My team name is: Julie's Core. Please sign up to walk or donate in a city near you under my team name, or create a new team and raise money.
Last year, I had 70 people walk on my team and raised over $10,000!!! Let's beat this number this year so no one will have to go through what I went through!!
Never take life or anything else for granted. Live as though you have never lived. Love as though you have never loved. Laugh as though you have never laughed." "Laughter (and Love) is the best medicine."

My Philosophy
~Live well, Laugh often, Love Much~
- Never take anything for granted.
- Work like you don't need the money, love like your heart has never been broken, and dance like no one is watching.
- Sing as though no one can hear you.
- Live as though heaven is on earth.
- Live every day as if it were your last.
- Laugh as much as you breathe and love as long as you live.
- Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.
What Gives Me Hope
