The human side:
I am disabled from a dibilitating bladder disease, interstitial cystitis. I suffer great pain and have to take medication daily. I firmly believe this disease was brought on by nerves and chemical exposure. I witnessed a fatal stabbing at one job, was retrained as a medical transcriptionist, got a job as a typesetter and loved the work. However, the typesetters were required to clean the film processor and there was never a time that I cleaned it that I wasn't sick the next day. But proving the connection has been impossible.
I have one child, a 28 yr old son, married to a wonderful girl who is giving me a grandson. He is a firefighter and recently graduated from paramedic school. I am a very proud mother and soon to be Granny!
I now do odd jobs at home, building ads, booklets, forms and other documents. I have purchased a labeling machine and will begin printing candle caution labels and various other labels, some for a friend that sales Avon, she uses them for recruiting. My husband helps me with the labels, he has learned the process of printing, all I have to do is the designing which I find very easy. The defensive side:
I take issues that directly affect my family very seriously. I will fight for what is right. I take no crap from no one. I am objective until both sides have had their say, then I fight for what I believe in, until the dirty end. I speak my mind, loudly! I am not a political person, I believe in the individual, not their political 'heading', and I do not like to talk politics because so many people are set on one side or the other that they refuse to see beyond the boundaries they have established. The educated side:
I grew up with a racist dad and a mom that was not, thank goodness. I learned how to and how not to be racist. I have some beliefs that many may consider racism, but they are not intended for a race of people, unless idiots is considered a race.
I know a little about the atmosphere that others may not know, my dad retired from the NSBF, formerly a NASA based operation. I also know about the nonexistant animal cruelty in slaughter houses, my mom retired from USDA FSIS MPI IO, and I witnessed the fatal stabbing while serving as a USDA FSIS MPI IO.
I know to allow someone the right to think on their own, make their own decisions whether right or wrong and hopefully learn from their mistakes. I also know to give the accused a chance to explain themselves. I also believe in the death penelty, having grown up near major prison systems, it is imperative that people understand the nature in which prisoners are treated....much better than the rest of us. A prison guard is not allowed to defend him/herself in the event of an attack. Signs on the road leading to my dad's house say "Hitch hikers may be escapees". I guess my whole life has been lived with one big nerve on my sleeve.
I hope to meet people that are as open minded as I.
