Alot has been going on in my life as I'm preparing for both mom & dad death Both have been in Hospice & Dad has end stage COPD,CHF,CAD Aortic Aneurysm & is Living on Borrowed Time. Mom has Liver & Lung Cancer and Also is Living on Borrowed Time! I have dealt with CRF,Neuro Distemper heartworms,staph/strep/enterbactor/pseudomonas infections, haemobartonellosis, heart murmurs, elevated liver values, behaviour problems, amputated leg, asthma, hyperthyroid, cushings, rolling skin syndrome, blindness, deafness, broken teeth,no teeth, fiv+,half blind & deaf and terrified of humans even though they are starved and you can count every bone in their body just to name a few!I tame ferals/hard strays. MOST I HAVE NOW and are caring for! The ones I take in are near death and terrified of everything! I give them the best of everything! And are not adoptable so they stay here @ their FOREVER home no matter how long! Everyone that comes my way leaves this world with Lots of love, execellent medical care and "spoiled rotten" and leave this world in the arms of someone who loves them unconditionally NO MATTER HOW MEAN OR SICK THEY WERE!!!
EVERYONE is speutered and has ALL their shots and microchipped and knows everyone @ the vets and the mobile vet!! Most enjoy trips to the local petsmart...Even My Feral Lil'Devil!
The strays/ferals and abused animals I get now all come from Precious,Midnight,LuckyBaby,SpitFire. They are My Social Kibs. They are the ones I rescued who was brought by someone else and they go searching for Others In Need!
My Mission is to TAME the wildest/build their trust in humans;Train them how to be cats and that eating out of dishes, sleeping in huts and playing and meowing IS OK;Fatten them up which takes time and patience because you have to feed many small meals a day;Love them NO MATTER how they act or How they look in the beginning they all have a big head, very small body and their "parts" are shrunken, have teeth loss ,bleeding gums, hair loss AND HAVE THE SMELL OF DEATH! And to help them cross over with LOVE and many tears! The ONLY problem I have is that they ALL want attention at the same time and You would think that I bottlefed them for the way they are jealous of each other! I do not allow fighting and I am known to step in the middle of 4-5 male cats and reach down and grab 2 by the scruff of the neck and lift them up so they look each other in the eyes! Most of the time ALL I have to do is clap and call their name and say Brake it up! then when they walk away I say Good Boy & Thank you! Knock on wood I have not had any major fights that required vet care.I have had some bites and scratches but they were new members of the family that had to learn how to get along which the older members teach the new comers how to get along. When they come to me they know nothing but when I get done they all get along.People ask me if they are from the same family such as siblings or grew up together...NOPE they come from all walks of life. Some hard ferals, some abused, neglected ect. I have been busy caring for my disabled parents.Mom just had rectal cancer surgery and has a colostomy bag that we are dealing with and she almost didn't make it throught the operation. She is incontinent, has early stages of dementia.Dad has an aortic aneurysem and is wheel chair bound and uses a scooter he has been having some form of seizures as he falls asleep then moves his whole body in a jerking motion and can't hold onto anything. He doesn't know when he's falling asleep so I convinced him not to drive and go to a specialist..I file medical insurance, deal with all medicine, doctors ect. along with caring for my sick babies. I have been doing this ALL myself with NO help from mom's side of the family.I am only the step daughter BUT I have done more for her than her own family!
I do not give up on these precious souls because they need extra care, medical care or special food! 1 thing I just don't understand is everytime I get a new commer I loose 1?? I hate to see a new 1 cause deep in my heart I know I will be helping 1 cross over! It does not get easier when you loose 1 But I know that the new 1 will be worse than the 1 before!
What I truely don't Understand is that everyone I rescue BRING ME OTHERS..Such as possums, raccoons, skunks, foxes ect.Not JUST BABIES But they also bring Momma with her babies??? Strange But I wish you could see a cat walking in the front and have the babies behind and momma at the back of the line..They eat together, sleep together and forage together..
My Heart and Thanks go out to everyone who rescues and places animals! I only work with the 1s that are unadoptable and provide hospice care for them! Our Newest Member Is Scout a Schnauzer that was rescued from our local shelter and he has Neuro Distemper. I couldn't do All that I do without the help of My wonderful Vets and the caring staff who stands behind and encourages me to continue on with my Passion and guides me to use my gift of helping the injured, sick animals.
